  1. I understand your view of Villanova. I shared it at one time but Jay Wright has won me over. I think they play beautiful basketball. I saw Dr. J when he was at UMass, playing against Penn. He scored 36 and Penn still won. Saw David Robinson when he was at Navy. Scored 50 against Drexel at the Palestra and Drexel still won. Les Keiter. Tickled the Twine. Ring-tailed howitzer. Double-headers and every seat was close. Great great venue.
  2. No I did not. The requirements of the positions may mirror but the abilities of the pllayrrs do not. sheesh!
  3. In the abstract, not much. No more so than throwing right or left. How many of us can even sign our names with either hand?
  4. Actually he has not shown that. He had three days of prep to play a brand-new position. Yes, he was bad but he had no chance.
  5. With all due respect, this makes no sense to me. Competent LTs are gold. If Dillard shows positive you KEEP him. And why draft or develop Johnson's replacement when you have Mailata?
  6. I had covid as well. It triggered Afib. I nearly died and I feel like I aged five years in a month. You’re damn right I got vaccinated. Stay healthy, beast. I’m sure I’ll need to talk Gettysburg sometime soon.
  7. Something Sirianni said comes to mind. He said he had to get to learn the players in order to decide how to use them most effectively. Individual drills and observation of technique are the ways to do that. You can also learn about a player's coachability. Stoutland aside, none of these coaches really knows his players. It's a learning process for them too.
  8. These cyclical rants are tiresome. They prove nothing, advance nothing, and yet we indulge. I’m going to bed.
  9. Thank you. I have been warned and will go stand in the corner. Besides, it’s cooler there.
  10. Out of curiosity, what inspired these comments?
  11. Hot damn! Good to see you here, lad.
  12. Agree. As for height, both Brees and Wilson are shorter and they've done OK. Conversely, Wentz, who is 6'5" or 6'6" has had a lot of passes deflected at the LOS. Also, everything I've read about Sirianni's offense indicates a quicker passing scheme, lots of play-action, and screens. Quite different from Doug's deep throws. A sturdier OL and quicker throws should eliminate a lot of Hurts' fumbles.
  13. "You can take a horticulture but you can't make her think." Dorothy Parker.
