What, like the ones that took 1 hour to storm the room where the shooter killed 22 people? Those types? The ones that sat there for an hour while children bled to death?? -

soooo....you're telling me that the courts have not already interpreted that background checks may in fact be required. Sounds like my teachers aren't the ones that failed me. AND I allow professors, not teachers to tell me what is constitutionally allowed under the second amendment. Sorry you only finished HS and never had the privillage of learning from professors. https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Professors of Constitutional Law statement 550 pm version.pdf Justice Scalia’s majority opinion also emphasized repeatedly that the right to keep and bear arms, like other constitutional rights, is "not unlimited,” and is subject to regulation. In the Court’s words: [N]othing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms. -

He’s an 18 yr old that clearly should not have been able to buy an AR a week before he murdered 18 elementary school kids. Yes, my point is valid. Go pound sand. EDIT 19 students now. 22 total -

I don’t need to. The NRA knows why they are to blame. They continue to fight against sensible gun laws. I am all for gun ownership, but the NRA is disgusting -

I hope we hear soon how he got in and that whoever allowed it (whether it be someone physically at the school or the awful state itself for not funding better security for schools) is fired immediately
