Donald Trump:

Quote

Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, has a history of speech and actions that have been widely viewed as racist or racially charged. Journalists, friends, and former employees have accused him of fueling racism in the United States[1][2][3][4] and some scholars have placed Trump's rhetoric and performance in the context of[clarification needed] white supremacy.[5][6][7][8] Trump has repeatedly denied accusations of racism,[9][10] and some people who have known him have gone on record to state that he is not racist.[1][11][12]

In 1973, Trump and his company Trump Management were sued by the Department of Justice for housing discrimination against African-American renters; he settled the suit, entering into a consent decree to end the practices without admitting wrongdoing.[13][14][15] The Justice Department sued again in 1978, claiming continued racial discrimination in violation of the consent decree, but that settlement agreement expired in 1982, ending the case.[16]

From 2011 to 2016, Trump was a leading proponent of the already-debunked birther conspiracy theory claiming president Barack Obama was not born in the United States.[17][18] In a racially charged criminal case, Trump continued to insist, as late as 2019,[19][20] that a group of black and Latino teenagers were guilty of the 1989 rape of a white woman in the Central Park jogger case, despite the five males having been officially exonerated in 2002, based on a confession by an imprisoned serial rapist that was confirmed by DNA evidence.[21][22][23]

Trump launched his 2016 presidential campaign with a speech in which he spoke about Mexican immigrants: "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."[24][25] He said that a judge with "Mexican heritage" should be disqualified from deciding cases against him. He retweeted false statistics claiming that African Americans are responsible for the majority of murders of white Americans, and in some speeches he has repeatedly linked African Americans and Hispanics with violent crime.[26][27] During the campaign, Trump used the fears of the white working class voters, and created the impression of global danger of groups that are deemed to pose a challenge to the nation.[5]

Trump made comments following a 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that were seen by critics as implying moral equivalence between the white supremacist marchers and those who protested against them. Some interpreted his remarks as sympathetic to white supremacy[28] despite the fact Trump said white nationalists should be "condemned totally".[28][29] In 2018, during an Oval Office meeting about immigration reform, Trump allegedly referred to El Salvador, Haiti, and African countries as "shitholes", which was widely condemned as a racist comment.[30][31][32] In July 2019, Trump tweeted about Democratic congresswomen of color: "Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done."[33] News outlets such as The Atlantic criticized this comment as a common racist trope.[34] He later denied his comments were racist, saying "if somebody has a problem with our country, if somebody doesn't want to be in our country, they should leave."[35]

Trump's controversial statements have been condemned by many observers around the world,[14][36][37] but excused by some of his supporters as a rejection of political correctness[38][39] and by others because they harbor similar racist beliefs.[40][41] Several studies and surveys have shown that racist attitudes and racial resentment have fueled Trump's political ascendance, and have become more significant than economic factors in determining the party allegiance of U.S. voters.[41][42] Racist and Islamophobic attitudes have been shown to be a powerful indicator of support for Trump.[43]

Joe Biden:

Unfortunately there is a not a dedicated section on Wikipedia for his racial views other than this:

Quote

Affirmative action

Biden has supported affirmative action policies.[33]

They probably both are.

I have inlaws that that start coversations with "I'm not racist, but" and then say something very racist. They always remind of both Biden and Trump.

Trump has plenty of recent examples of being racist which have been cleanly documented by Wikipedia. Can you provide some for Biden?

That whole, if you vote for Trump you can't be black, or whatever the hell he said. He seems TOO awkward when speaking about races other than whites to me. I believe there were other instances in the past but I cant remember specifics.

If black people agree with Biden's statement are they racist too?

Here is another recent one he said recently.

"Unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly diverse attitudes about different things," Biden said. "You go to Florida, you find a very different attitude about immigration than you do in Arizona. So it's a very diverse community."

So many times have Trump said or tweeted out something inane and stupid then is followed up by his supporters trying to explain away his stupidty. Yet a gaff from Biden deserves no further discussion and just instant ridicule. I could say Biden meant that if you are black and vote for Trump you are voting against your own self interests. 4D Chess

the first? he said that???

When asked about his thoughts on Obama's presidential candidacy, Biden infamously replied: "I mean, you've got the first sort of mainstream African American, who is articulate and bright, and clean, and a nice looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

Again...just my opinion and as far as the election goes I hope Trump is throughly trounced, Biden has too many gaffs and awkward moments when he speaks on race issues.  Still think he is the better candidate but I am answering the question.

Now Trump is unquestionably a racist ****. No doubt.

Joe's right - all black people have a consensus opinion on everything, and if they don't their blackness is in question

Sure if that's remotely close to what I said.

Bad look for Biden. Still not enough to put Biden as racist for me at least compared to Trump

Maybe its a generational thing. As I get older (43) I am starting to think 75 percent of old white men have racist tendencies ingrained in them. And as I get older I find it harder to bite my tongue like I did when younger. It a sad world when you need to ask someone 25 years older than you to leave your home because ether keep using phrases like "****" in front of your 10 and 13 year old. But it does need to stop.

So Trump is the cut off for racism? Thats a low bar. You should really up your standards IMO
