Some people seem nervous about getting vaccinated. I think it's showing great leadership by Clinton, Bush, and Obama to get vaccinated first. For me I will get vaccinated as soon as it is available to me.

I'm not scared of vaccines - by the time it's available to me I'll know for sure what the side effects are so unless it's something horrific I'll be getting it.

Flu like symptoms for 24 hours in 10% of those who get it are the known side effects. Small price to pay as far as I'm concerned. Someone here probably knows for sure, but I'm guessing that's similar to side effects from the regular flu shot which I get every year.

Yep. Same for my wife and kids.

I think it's going to be a while for the kiddos under 12. My wife will get it first since she works in a hospital and a nursing home. She will probably get it before the end of the year form the sounds of it.

The reactions to this are being reported as both more common and more severe than those seen with the annual flu shot. Maybe like 2% for flu shot and 5% for this. Full dataset is currently under review, but there have also been some indications that the pfizer vaccine has a slightly lower incidence than the moderna one.

Latest estimates I've seen are in the Aug-Dec timeframe next year. Sounds like they might start enrolling 5-11 year olds for trials possibly as early as the spring or summer. I floated the idea of enrolling our kids to the wife but she wasn't keen on it. The chances of it somehow being safe for 12 year olds but not 5 year olds seems very low to me but I acknowledge I'm not an immunologist and they do the trials for a reason.

Yes when it's my turn.  I am due for another vaccine but this one seems more important so delaying the shingles one til fall next year,  maybe do that one with next years flu shot if I get the 2 covid one done by summer 2021.

I will not rush out to get the vaccines that are rushed out without proper testing.

The entire reason we have the testing and protocols in place, is because of what happened when they were not.

However, I am 60 and NOT 30. If I was 30, I would take it as soon as it was available.

Yes I will when my number is drawn.  If the earlier people aren't keeling over and dying from it that is.  Amazing how many who, heretofore, mocked anti-vaxxers, have suddenly turned into anti-vaxxers.  Weird.

I can see the arguement that could be made, even among pro vaxxers, that waiting a bit for this particular vaccine is a logical thing to do. Especially if you are in the lowest risk groups.

I don't think choosing to wait a little bit for this vaccine makes a person an anti-vaxxer.

Um it's generally the same crowd of idiots who are anti vaxxers who say this is a hoax and won't get this vaccine either.

Where have you seen that this vaccine was rushed out without proper testing?
