I bet on a horse to win at 10 to 1. All the others came in at 12:30.

I actually do have a small bet on a horse in the Tampa Downs today...Fox Rox (race 7)...will advise.

I think the KR Ricky Derby was pushed to September. They ran a virtual one today, Secretariat won.

Race 1 - $2 bet on Americano to show and another $2 exacta box on #10, # 8, #2

Total wager $14

UPDATE: won $2.00 on the first bet, and $18 on the exacta box.

Moving onto Race 3 at Tampa Downs. Still trying to figure out this horse betting thing, so I’m keeping the stakes low right now. In my mind, I’m building a bankroll, 2 bucks at a time. 😁

I bet $2 on the 8 to Show and another $2 box exacta on horses 8,3,7.

UPDATE: lost both.

Another horrible day yesterday. This horse betting thing might as well be Common Core math to me. I just can’t get the hang of it. I watch guys that are into it and it seems like the research into picking the horse is just as much part of the thrill as the race.

That's probably true. Did you use a racing form when picking your horses? Analyzing past performances is critical to making your selections.

I just started getting my feet wet, the old doode I work with on Fridays is a big time horse guy. I use an internet site to place my small bets, and as far as handicapping, I usually just go with what he says, or what the Tampa Bay Downs tip sheets.

Kentucky Derby is scheduled Sept. 5. Preakness Oct. 3. Don't know if they will be running Belmont this year. It is scheduled for June 6 but horse racing in NY is suspended indefinitely.

I talked to a trainer from parx casino who said at the lower level all the races are fixed.

I’m testing a theory this weekend. I’m going to see which trainers are winning in the earlier races, then I’ll start betting on that trainer in the late afternoon. I’m assuming he drugs all of his horses

I'd more so think bet on a different trainer in the afternoon because they all need to win a little. Guy was telling me they decide which horse they will mess with and then loosen a shoe or something.
