So much for my wishful thinking on Bryant then…

I’m pretty sure the same thing was said with Harper before we went and signed him. There was a rumor he just didn’t want to come to Philly and that’s why he was going to go to SF.

Hear me now. Believe me later.

Now is the time to compete for free agents.

It's put up or shut up time.

Spend the money to build a winner.

We didn't have enough hitting last year. Now, they've added the DH. The deficit just got bigger.

We need to pay money because the talent evaluation for drafts was deficient and minor leagues are not producing.

Get these deals done.

I don’t understand this at all, especially considering the very team friendly deals they got for Acuna, Ozuna, and Albies.

I think I read somewhere that Schwarber was one of the most shift-affected hitters over the past few years.

Great bat. Dunno what the comparison in LF from 85 year old Cutch to Schwarber is defensively, but I'll take it. Some serious Righty Lefty pop with a Schwarber/Hoskins/Harper/Realmuto lineup.

Think in the batting order it should go:
3-Harper

cleanup-Realmuto

5-Schwarber

6-Hoskins

L/R/L/R and all with power to go out of the yard.  Realmuto should hit for higher average than Schwarber or Hoskins so he'd be more consistent to have backing up Harper.

Who will be the Jerry Martin to Schwarber's Greg Luzinski in LF?

Are you referring to a defensive substitute for Schwarber or a coke source?

Happy to see we landed Schwarber.

Probably more per year than I recall had been predicted earlier in the offseason.

I know I'm greedy, but can we afford more?

Where are we versus the Luxury Tax Threshold?

Bryant or Castellanos?

Any chance they can make a move for someone that would be a legit lead off hitter?  No idea who that would be but this lineup needs someone in that spot.

I don't know if I could stand watching Herrera batting there.

Seiya Suzuki to sign with Cubs. $85Mil with $14+Mil posting fee to Carp.

5yrs AAV $17Mil

Good for the Cubs.

Good for Suzuki. I'm glad they showed him the money.

Evidently they have $10m to spend before hitting the luxury tax. In that case, my guess is no.

19.75 AAV

I wonder what the 2022 number is and how it's structured.

Not terrible

I guess this is assuming Schwarber's 2022 number is around $19 million.

They need a Brad Miller LH bat, who they just lost to Texas

Baseball uses the AAV for luxury tax purposes, not what is paid in each year, in order to reduce gamesmanship.

We need to go over the Luxury Tax Threshold.

Didi is going into his last year at $15Mil.

Segura is at $14Mil with a $1Mil buyout after this year.

So, we would get some relief potentially in one year, if we can replace them.

You can see everywhere that the Phillies lack of minor league production is killing our payroll.

8 out of 10 top paid players on Phillies are free agent signings.

2 of top 10 paid players on Phillies are drafted: Nola, Hoskins

We still have question marks at 3rd and DH.

We need Bohm to turn things around and Stott to make the grade by end of this year.

I approve going over the Luxury Tax Threshold if we are signing Bryant or Castellanos.

Not to bash the Phillies, but i feel like out of Bryant, castellanos and schwarber that schwarber is the most likely to be a bust out of those 3.
