EMB Blog: 2023 Regular Season thru Week 9 - NO POLITICS

I'm guessing with all the injuries, the Eagles will pull the trigger on a trade for a safety. In our desperation state, Howie may have to "lose" a trade to bring in a player we need.

I'm as big a supporter and believer in Sirianni as anyone, but count me in the group who is looking at him and not Brian Johnson. It's his problem. Last year was never going to be repeatable. They were essentially unstoppable on offense. It's the NFL. Teams adjust. But the offense needs more scheme support from the coaches. It can't all be Hurts dropping back 45 times and AJ Brown being AJ Brown.

I love DeVonta as well, but he was cheeks today.

Off the top of my head, the third down play call before Jake’s Miss was a killer. Driscoll got killed all game and we called slow developing crossing routes. Just call a damn slant to AJ and let him beat some bum cornerback.

That’s one of the things that bothers me from this game. You know you have 2 back ups on the right side . You should be helping Driscoll. We all know Driscoll isn’t good enough. So leaving him on an island one on one to take shots down the field or slow developing plays is a recipe for disasters. And hurtd didn’t help matters either. There’s way too many times he’s sitting back there thinking he has all day then the pressure gets there and he has to try and maneuver out of it when he can’t or he eliminates half the field. He has gotta be quicker in his decisions without lane. Driscoll is what he is. Asking him to give you a ton of time for slow developing plays or shots down field without helping him is asking for trouble.

On a positive note we have 2 straight nights of Phillies baseball coming up

I think we’ll hear a lot of cheap talk in the week ahead that Driscoll wasn’t actually that bad, that they could have helped him more (they could have), and that they are confident in him until Lane returns.  And I think they’ll ride with him.

Dude, he WAS that bad

Who else has a spicy take that they've been waiting to rip? Let it go!

Sorry fellas, but we got conned.

This team is fool's gold.

And so is Jalen Hurts.

That INT to essentially end the game is inexcusable. No one can defend it. Run for an attempt at the 1st down in scramble mode. Throw it away and give the D a chance at a stop. Anything but what he did.

Hurts is regressing to the mean.

One outstanding season shouldn't have warranted such an enormous contract.

10-7 season incoming if we are lucky.

10-7 might be real but I ain’t down on Jalen he had a bad half

OC needs to be fired

Hurts has regressed

Maybe. Or the DBags roll in like the Cardinals in 2011 playing hot.

I get Lane going down was a big deal. As was most of the secondary.

But great QBs make a play when one 1st down wins the game.

Hurts isn't great.

But he's paid like he is.

Not gonna lie feels like the eagles shitting the bed will lead to other bad things happening in other sports in Philly lol.

I'll say 11-6. Bounced in nfc championship game

Something has been off with the coaching all season. They've been coaching hesitant almost like they fear the defense rather than the defense should be fearing them. They tighten up in the red zone, on 3rd downs they've not been nearly as aggressive. I really don't get it. Just an air that they don't have confidence in their players. They got away with it for weeks. Even last week on that late drive they played for a field goal and basically conceded a TD. Random stuff like that all season.

I would say a lot of it has to do with the new OC.

I don’t know how much longer he gets to prove himself, but this team has looked off all season. Siri either needs to take over some of the playcalling, or delegate some of it elsewhere, because Johnson hasn’t shown anything that suggests he’s capable of calling a complete game effectively.

Don’t listen to Hurts when he says to not look at your deuces in the toilet before you flush them. You can tell a lot about your health by the shape and color of your poop. Refer to the Bristol stool chart and let your doctors know if anything is off.

I feel like if Swag couldn’t move -Driscoll’s game would’ve been Winston Justice level.

I definitely have no problem critiquing Hurts. How many crucial drops did you see today from guys like Gainwell & Smith? Or AJ slowing down on a route that would have been a massive TD giving us insane momentum. Hurts had some questionable throws & some very bad ones, but this loss isn’t solely on him.

The disaster of the game isn't but the loss sure is. They had the lead and he gave it away. They probably win if he didn't pull a Dak

They've been playing like a 1-5 team and it finally caught up to them

Blaming Sirianni over Johnson is fair as Sirianni is the HC and made the decision.

Steichen is revered as a god in this city, it's like people forget he was OC for the 2021 offense, which sucked. The offense wasn't perfect last year either. It was better than it was this year, but Hurts was better. They had plays they'd like to have back last year. People came into this season with a watchful eye on Johnson ready to pounce whenever something went wrong. They win this game if Hurts doesn't throw that INT. That had nothing to do with Johnson.

How about Hurts doesn't make a dope pass, Swift and Goedert don't fumble, Jake doesn't miss a FG? All those things go right and this is a route in the Eagles favor and no one's even mentioning Johnson.

Howie desperately needs to make a move for secondary help.

Thing is, every other GM knows that. He’s going to need to pull another rabbit out of the hat

This.  A Phillies loss tomorrow night is guaranteed.  The Eagles are going 10-7 at best, but wouldn’t be surprised if they finish under .500

It’s rough having these uncertainties and worries after what was supposed to be the easy stretch of our schedule. I know injuries play a role. Makes me feel uneasy for that brutal stretch we have coming up
