Nah tackles go high. If a dude is there take him

If he’s BPA sure. But if not we have 2 second round picks, including the Saints, and we can grab a talented player there.

It's a shame Wilson won't be starting in the league long enough to ever play Hurts again.

I'm still thinking about the Devonta drop. I can live with WRs wanting the ball and more opportunities. But then you have to step up. He had 2 drops, probably had a 3rd if you don't want to count a PBU and got bodied on the last of the play.

There was a play early on when Driscoll had to come in and after a few snaps at RT they moved him across the formation to play LG or LT, wtf was that?

Overloaded the OL.  They do that all the time in certain situations.   The LT moves out and the RT inserts between the LT and LG.    They do the same thing to the other side... LT inserts between the RT and RG.  Stout has been doing this for as long as he's been here.

Random, but true:

The Eagles can't seem to win a game when I've been on vacation. Just started and they lost. The last one I took? The Friday before the Superbowl.

Wilson 1

Hurts 0

Who else has a spicy take that they've been waiting to rip? Let it go!

I don't think it's fair to put all the loss on Hurts.  He was borderline transcendent at times in the first half.  Was he abysmal in the second?  Yup.  Do they potentially win this game with an average starting QB performance?  Yup.  Did he throw the game away in the 4th?  Yup.  But multiple phases of the game collapsed for the team this week and Hurts was doing his best hero ball for much of it keeping them afloat.

Now for the bad...the bad is in the stats.  7 passing TD, 7 INT, 84.7 QB rating.  That will be close to the bottom of the NFL passer rating ledger once they update for this Sunday.  I see the progress amidst the struggles, I see the big plays, I ate my crow last year, and I still see him as an elite top level QB.  But the numbers, this year, slot him in as a bottom tier passer.  That's got to change.

Sky is falling at 5-1. Funny how before it was a win is a win

Some of us havent been saying a win is a win. Some have been complaining about the eagles not putting teams away when they’ve had chances. Or the red zone offense being bad. Or the amount of mistakes coaching and player wise going on.

The thing that just irritates me with the coaching today is lane Johnson is one of the best tackles in eagles history and nfl. Losing him is going to hurt. However, you compound losing him by thinking you’re going to run the same offense vs. a very good Jets defense like if he still out there. That is a recipe to lose. Asking Driscoll to try blocking guys 1 on 1 while running slow developing plays or deep shots. You’re gonna lose that battle more often than not because he is not good enough to do that. You have to help him. It’s sucks, but that’s the reality we are living in right now. If you’re gonna live in the reality that we don’t have lane but we’re gonna still run the same type of stuff then going to learn some harsh lessons. If we can’t accept that we need to make adjustments with him out then gonna learn a lot of hard lessons in this league.

5-1

To be fair he does a lot of unorthodox things and he did them last year as well. People didn’t **** cuz a lot of them worked.
The first TD today? You can first guess that … no one does because we scored. The end of the game throw didn’t work, it was bound to happen eventually. Get used to it, it’s who we are.

*If we had a 4th and 1 in that situation at are own 45 I have no doubt Sirianni goes for it.

It was absolutely first guessed as it was happening.  Just an embarrassing offensive philosophy in the red zone to run your QB on 3rd and goal from the 10... and then do it again on 4th and goal from the 3.

I'm not giving up on him but he's looked more like 2021 Hurts then the 2022 version.

I'm as big a supporter and believer in Sirianni as anyone, but count me in the group who is looking at him and not Brian Johnson. It's his problem. Last year was never going to be repeatable. They were essentially unstoppable on offense. It's the NFL. Teams adjust. But the offense needs more scheme support from the coaches. It can't all be Hurts dropping back 45 times and AJ Brown being AJ Brown.

I love DeVonta as well, but he was cheeks today.

Maybe Howie and the front office should've looked into bringing in a higher level o-coordinator rather than just gifting the job to Johnson. Johnson could've stayed on, given a higher title even, but not o-coordinator with full control of play calling. This is a Super Bowl type team and you really gambled with Johnson which in hindsight is not looking smart.

They will not nosedive after this game, and the coaching is a little off, but overall it’s still good. I think it’s major hyperbole to say it’s letting them down, especially today. Today was waaaaaay more on the players than coaching. The coaches didn’t turn it over 4 times and drop wide open passes. Today, the players let the coaches down.

This is a really good team. We’ve had it so good here lately that slight failures have people panicking. That’s because everyone isn’t used to not looking close to perfect. This is how normal NFL seasons go. Ups and downs.

I wish I shared your optimism, but sa long as Brian Johnson is calling plays, the offfense will continue to struggle. You're not going of fix something in 1 week that you havne't been able to in the past 5.

Ebb and flow no dobut, but this team just hasn't looked right over the course of the season and injuries are beginning to pile up in the deepest part of our schedule.

I'm not sure we will score 20 on Miami

I agree with you, I’m taking the points there. My point is people are complaining we threw on 3rd and 10, I wasn’t surprised. Didn’t agree with that decision in either case … but Nick has consistently been super aggressive.
