This game was on Jalen. Not a slight on him overall, but come on. That last INT can't happen under any circumstances.

This.

All the other blemishes go away if he makes one play.

Or at the very least doesn't make the worst play possible. And gives the D a chance, albeit not a great chance, the opportunity to hold.

I did a search and found various posters basically saying it after each win this season

Various posters isn’t everyone though. Been a bunch of us that haven’t sugar coated it. Clear flaws with this team and injuries that are mounting. Can say we are 5-1 and sky isn’t falling. That’s fine. I don’t think this team with what I’ve seen from them so far this year is gonna like what’s coming down the pipe over the next 8 weeks. you are gonna find out a crap load about this team over the next 8 weeks. With how the Eagles are playing right now, and how many injuries they have, I would be surprised if they go better than 4-4.

14 rushing attempts by the Eagles rbs... sad

I have to say it again.

Remember when Gardner Minshew beat the Jets, but it meant nothing because it was the Jets?

Pepperidge Farms remembers.

I don't think Driscoll is terrible. He's not good. He's not average. But he's playable.

The problem is that this team calls plays like he's average.

It's downright terrible.

Sirianni and them abandoned the run like it was a hooker they forget to tip properly.

I talked about this a couple pages ago. You cannot keep calling plays like you still have lane out there when he’s out. They’re out there running plays as if lane is out there.. You have to know your personnel and be smart enough to make an adjustment in game, knowing what you have out there. The Eagles are no point in time today did that.

I brought it up during the game. If you’re gonna take a deep shot down the field you should be in max protect or help driscoll so that hurts has enough time to throw the ball down the field. Instead you have Driscoll go one on one, he got beat and the guy hit jalen’s arm and it became an interception. That play was only gonna work if you had enough protection for hurtd. They didn’t because they didn’t understand the downgrade to personnel and didn’t adjust for it

Guess which game the Jets gave up the least points this year?

Guess which game the Jets played without their top 3 corners?

Guess what game Hurts threw 3 ints in?

The NFL is a funny thing.  I remember Driscoll, as a rookie, playing against Bosa and really holding his own.  I think it was Bosa, but it was definitely some pro-bowl edge.  It felt like he got dinged every time he had extended snaps, but he seemed to play quite well, especially in pass protection, whenever he got snaps...which was pretty often...because, you know, Lane Johnson and injuries.

It feels like he has gotten worse every year.

Yeah, he flunked out of Stoutland U

Josh Allen just went into the medical tent. Kyle Allen is playing now.

He's back in now.

So many vivid colors in this BUF-NYG game - after watching our game on a drab field with drab uniforms under dull fluorescent lights. The only thing that stood out was AJs shoes.

Such a frustrating game from DeVonta. That drop changed the game. He’s still super talented but I thought he’d surpass AJ this year. It’s clear who the Batman and who the Robin is in the duo though.

Speaking of AJ it seemed he had his way with the Jets secondary and then kinda disappeared.  He F'ed up on that long bomb when he slowed down for whatever reason but he was doing really well.  End of the game I don't remember him much outside that big sideline catch he had.

Tbh i just don’t think this team is as talented nor able to avoid injuries like they did last year. Was remarkable they were able too as well as they did. Was a play where lane might have tore his acl last year if he was playing on turf. Fortunately we weren’t.

just looking at the roster I don’t think they’re better anywhere on this roster besides DL/pass rush

lost seumalo. Fine jurgens was doing well but he’s hurt. So opeta is in. He’s been ok but he’s worse then what seumalo gave you last year.

lane is hurt. Don’t have dillard to play LT and move mailata to RT. Frankly wasn’t all that great either. So worse there.

Center to LT is the same as last year.

WR is maybe better? Aj and smith are who they are. Oz might be better than quez. Quez is hurt now. Really lack quality depth behind them.

tight end has been worse so far. Goedert has had one good game and 5 where he’s been out there making no impact.

Defensive line is likely better cause run defense is improved. And they get a ton of pressure especially with Carter.

cunningham and morrow are worse then edwards and white. It could be better if Dean shows up the rest of the year but he hasn’t stayed healthy.

corner has more depth but frankly a year older slay and bradberry. Lost maddox for the year and asking a mid 30s roby to step in who’s already hurt. I’d call this a push due to better depth.

safety is by far worse. Edmunds sucks. Evans is a backup and is an injury prone player. Brown has a chance but he’s a rookie who’s missed more time then he’s played. Asking a lot of him. I said before that you’re the biggest concern I have read Blankenship is if he would hold up for 17 games. He didn’t have to play 17 last year. This year he was going to have to. So far that’s not happening so you’re in a really big hole at safety because you don’t have anything good out there right now.

this doesn’t include the fact that you’re downgraded at all offensive coordinator. And this isn’t saying Johnson socks or is useless. That’s the reality of the situation when you have a OC go to the Colts to be a head coach and did a terrific job last year it’s a downgrade. Dc I can’t say they’re better or worse. D last year forced more turnovers but d this year has way more injuries and actually shut down a good Qb in Stafford. Granted Gannon feasted on QBs like Wilson

I am hoping I am wrong, but I just don’t think this team is better than some of these other teams I’ve watched. I thought they were really fortunate to be 5-0. Could’ve lost 2 other games already with how they played. When I watch the Detroit Lions play today, that team took it to that same Bucs team. Since they got beat in week 2 they’ve been taking it to teams that are inferior.

It's hard to disagree with any of that, but I have to say that things were worse than anyone was willing to admit at 5-0....and things are better than anyone feels right now at 5-1.

They have a lot of positions that are the same personnel, but regressed this year.  QB, TE, both starting CBs, lately WR2.

DTs are vastly upgraded due to internal improvement plus Carter.  RB is upgraded with Swift.

Every other personnel change has been a downgrade (Blankenship, Edmonds/Evans, Cunningham, Morrow, RG).  This is compounded by the injury bug that bit this year and spared them last year.

I think it's reasonable to expect QB, TE, and WR2 to come around.  If Hurts doesn't come around, everything else is just deck chairs on the titanic anyway.  Slay and Bradberry aren't at a career stage where they are just going to pick it up in the back half of the season, so they are going to be static, at best, in their level of play.  Blankenship looks like he can get to an Epps/CJGJ level, but he's had some real problems staying on the field through 6 games.  Everyone wants to see Sidney Brown, but he can't get healthy enough to suit up.  The longer that lingers, the less hope there is for them to ever be willing to give him a shot as a rookie.  And there's a decent chance the OL becomes whole again (until the next injury) by the other end of the bye week.

So I think there may be help on the way for every unit except the secondary, which wasn't actually the problem today.  Over the next 2 weeks, if QB, TE, WR2, OL health all come around, then you pull the trigger on DB help at the trade deadline.  If they don't come around, then you ride with what you've got and save resources for 2024.

You're missing a crucial position: QB. Hurts has been significantly worse than last year. Not to say he's been downright terrible in any sense, hw hasn't, but his decision making and pocket presence are not even close to last year. He's making multiple terrible decisions a game, some of them turn into turnovers and most don't.

He's also the reason goedert is having a terrible year, hurts isn't seeing him at all outside of one game.

That said, it's just another piece of the crap puzzle you laid out already. Hurts isn't close to being the reason this team is bad. Today he cost them the game in the end, but overall there are much much bigger problems.

If we’re being honest with ourselves before today, how did you feel about the Eagles so far this year? looked at him and said they are very fortunate to be 5-0. They tried to give the game away to New England and that is a really bad football team. They also tried to give a game away to Washington who I think is an average football team. Red zone struggles offensively and defensively we’re going to eventually catch up to them against better opponents if they didn’t fix it. That was without just mounting injuries. I also believe this team loses focus in games. When it’s happened 4 of 6 games that’s a trend

if you want to be positive and say there’s still a chance they get to the level they were at last year I’m not gonna disagree with you. There’s 11 games left in the year. But based off what I’ve seen over the course of six weeks and injury situation it feels like it might not be their year.

Guyton might be that dude

Guyton, Mims, Suamataia, Morgan, Barton…

Lots of interesting prospects who we can target.

Desai defense despite the injuries has been much better in the 2nd half.  It the 1st half, the seem to play loose coverage and prevent.  Need to bring the CBs up closer to stop those easy slants.  Bring the 2nd half defense to the first half.  And, yeah, Howie pull the trigger on Chinn or Baker.  Stop screwing around.

Brian Johnson, on the other hand, has just been bad and inconsistent.  That designed run on anything more than 5 yds is just not working.  He did do some good things with the dual rbs and ran more screens today.  I think we need to get more run centric until Lane can get back.  Granted they aren't the same running team with Driscoll.
