This is why you let your ace pitcher go out there with 81 pitches and see what happens with the first hitter. I don’t give a flying F what happened in the Braves game. He is your best Fing pitcher and was great outside of 2 pitches. If I’m going down, I’m  going down with wheeler, not my pen in a 3 run game trying to get 9 outs. 

I pitched at a low collegiate level.  Every coach I had from grade school through college made a point of emphasizing first pitch strikes as the most basic element of the job.

I realize it’s harder in the bigs when you can’t just groove it into the fat part of the zone early in counts, but you just can’t fail to find the zone as a professional.

Tbh the bullpen in September was shaky. Besides, Alvarado, who figured it out and Hoffman, the rest werent great in September. It’s why I said don’t rely on your bullpen. Trying to get nine outs. Especially when you don’t have an off day tomorrow. So if you extend Alvarado and kimbrel you could be in trouble late in the game tomorrow.

I said Turner should try that last series. With his speed you have to react fast and if you react wrong he easily could wind up at second on an error on a bad throw.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Turner take off here.  Bohm makes the throw harder.

No, the people on 3rd being stranded will, but you just feel they need another run and if they don't get it they lose
