2023 NFL trade deadline proposed deals:

Eagles acquire S Justin Simmons

  • Eagles get: S Justin Simmons
  • Broncos get: 2024 second-round pick

Simmons remains a top-tier defensive back going on 30, but that also means he could net Denver its best haul via trade. The Eagles probably don't wanna spend so much for another older veteran in the secondary, but injuries have whittled them down there, and Simmons is at least signed through 2024. A potentially cheaper alternative: the Panthers' Jeremy Chinn.

Simmons was second team all pro in 3 of the last 4 years, and had as many picks as CGJ last year, he could make Blankenship and Brown better safeties on a two year stay, a second is steeper than ideal, but he'd be a considerable upgrade on what we have.

Driscoll gave up 8 pressures- one resulting in an INT and a sack.  Even coming in cold the top tackle back up should not be allowing a 19% pressure rate.  Brutal.

Not sure if you're kidding or what, but that might be the dumbest thing I've ever read on the board.

Guy is the unanimous MVP at this point in the season.

MVP... bahaha! 😂

You could have guessed it was going to be someone in their 30s lol

Yeah it’s not good. It doesn’t help when we expect him to win 1 on 1s with slow developing plays. He’s not that good and the coaches giving less then ideal help is an issue.

We’re not paying a second round pick for the right to pay a 31 year old safety $14.5M in 2024.

McNabb getting dunked on by a top WR, again.

Definitely what we needed to be focused on heading into the toughest game of the season so far after a bad loss lol

F that. If we are doing that crap might as well go big and just get budda baker with an offer the cardinals cant refuse.

Looking forward to Brian Johnson's PC.  I have been highly critical of him but think he did some good things with new looks in the last game.  The players didn't execute and made mistakes.  I did like the slants to AJ, the 2 rb set, rb wheel route.  Hurts actually had some schemed open receivers even though some were drops or off target

That INT was the result of Hurts holding the ball for way too long.  Watch the play again.  There were options for a short throw, but he was locked in on the long pass to Smith.  He took about four hops in the pocket after his back foot hit the top of his drop.

Is the fault with Driscoll?  With Hurts for not releasing it sooner?  Or the play call/design having two backup OL on the right side and not recognizing the need to keep the plays much faster in design?

I'd say... likely all 3.   Driscoll is the easy target.  But, given that there's a good chance that Lane misses this week as well, you'd hope that the other parties involved would recognize their part in that play as well.

Is it confirmed that Jalen Carter is a go against Miami? What’s the word on Slay?

Not many people have brought this point up, Hurts time to throw is one of the highest in the league, only Russell Wilson has a higher time at 3.07. This was something he corrected last year that reverted back this year.

2021: 3.12

2022: 2.76

2023: 3.06

Not gonna know anything official until practice tomorrow.

Sure is taking awhile for his PC

I mentioned this Sunday during the game and after the game. There were times where he just sat there in the pocket forever. And created his own pressure because he didn’t get rid of the ball fast enough. And then he had a scramble out and then making dangerous throw. The one to Devonta smith that you really got picked off was 100% that. He had nearly all day to throw that ball and then he waited. Waited. Waited. Then the pressure finally got to him, and he rolled to the right and threw a really bad pass.

Gotcha saw some people giving their predictions and saw Carter’s name mentioned, wasn’t sure if I missed something

Yeah. Come already 🙄

I don't think Tua is going for 400 against this pass rush. That's a bit much. I'm actually hoping he doesn't get hurt because since that cast came off Reddick has been a menace.

Do you have a prediction of your own that you want to add to the mix?

Maybe swap the NO 2nd for the DEN 3rd (late 3rd round value), but a 2nd seems steep for a '23 rental/ '24 big cap hit.

That's a good idea.  I like keeping the same number of picks.  We are going to need them on Draft Day.

Yes, getting the ball out quickly would help but that does not seem to be in Jalen's repertoire yet.

I feel like the RZ issues are the easiest thing in the world to solve.  Spread the field, put AJ on one side on an island.  If hes 1 on 1, throw it to him. If hes not, run it.

It was much better just last year.   That's one of the areas where people rightly say that he's 'regressed'.

RT, DE, CB, WR (no implied order here, go BPA)... we'll hopefully have 4 selections in the top-100 with the Hargrave comp.  Yeah, we need the picks.
