Within the realm of reasonable.

That doesn’t mean you can help protect them. Just because they get money doesn’t mean they’re immune to empathy.

I'm assuming you meant can't. Didn't say they weren't

Agreed but I'm saying it's just not possible to completely eliminate it from the sport without drastically changing the sport (making it flag football) and even then it'd still have injuries

Shouldn't that be after the Super Bowl? This doesn't help the teams that are most likely to get poached... the Super Bowl contenders.

Blankenship might be the one... depends on the severity of the (multiple) rib(s) injury.  If there's a break, I think it has to be a 4 week, minimum, recovery.

I thought his xrays were negative. Wouldn't that rule out a break?

Eagles cut Goodrich

I'm not a doctor, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

@eagle45

Why is it that good news for the medical community is always 'negative'?  :P  Y'all are such contrarians.

Why not just wait until after the Super Bowl?  It might slow teams down in pulling the plug on HCs a little bit.  And then you don't have the issue with tampering with coordinators from Super Bowl participants.

But, it doesn't matter... it literally says "In-Person"... so now its just a 6 hour Zoom meeting.

I imagine for the sake of parity they don’t want to hurt the bad teams too much. Non playoff teams would have to go like 6 weeks idle before putting a staff together which is like 4 weeks before the combine and 4 more weeks before the draft.

Yeah... ok.  Then push the combine back to March... and the draft to early June.   Easy peasy.

Hot take. Julio plays corner.

Who’s the guy in here making all the crazy suggestions about players playing other positions?

You?

The NFL would rather help the bad teams than protect the good teams

Figured this would happen when Roby wasn't going on IR.  They had enough.

Good teams can become bad teams while losing their coaches and players after a Super Bowl run. Level the playing field and stop the disruptions for the teams that are good enough to still play. Seems silly to punish teams because they're actually good in a season. No guarantee they'll be good the next.

True but he's not wrong. Also I'd add in that the networks and league are overdoing it with the commercials

He also benefited from these rules in a biggly way so who's he to talk. He was one of the untouchables and that certaily extended his career.

The NFL doesn’t want good teams and bad teams. They want them all to be the same.

Then give them the same opportunities.

IR rules are for a minimum of 4 games. If Roby went on IR now he wouldn’t be eligible to return until week 12 against the Bills since they have the bye in week 10.

Still doesn't negate it from being accurate

Apparently they aren't putting him on IR so to me that means 2 games probably.  He's not good enough to not IR if they think he's definitely going to miss 3

That's why all the teams are getting fully black uniforms added to their look!

How did I not see this before?

So, when you hear their's a game on Thursday night, and one of them is in a 'color rush' all white and the other is a 'color rush' all black... you don't know if its your team or not, so you watch just to be safe.  GENIUS!

Are they the same team? ^^^

Why sign Josiah Scott to replace Goodrich?  They are the same level of bad.

That would be status quo.

Either way, it’s not my call or opinion. The league is built on parity, and this is just another example.

There’s also a big difference in hiring an entire coaching staff vs losing a coordinator to a HC job

Scott always knew where to line up.  That's a leg up on Goodrich.
