WIP is peak stupid right now. They are having a "movement" and encouraging people in Philly to buy tickets to the game in Arizona today off StubHub so the seats will "be empty or Phillies fans".  

As people in Arizona are desperately trying to get rid of these tickets and selling as low as $12 because they aren't going to the game.....

Yup.   Think it, talk about it amongst yourselves if you wish... but nothing public.   That's just foolish.   The Dbacks looked like they were ready to give up on Tuesday night.  Why give them anything that might light a fire under them?

 

BTW... the infield pop up that they allowed to drop along the 3rd base line being one sign of the team checking out... right after that, the LF caught a fly ball and seemed to have forgotten how many outs there were and literally turned his back to the infield after catching the ball.  The CF had to remind him that that was only the 2nd out.

Hot take: NFL officiating isn’t getting worse, it’s possibly better than it’s ever been. 
 
We just didn’t have social media to hyperbolize all of the blown calls they were making in the 90’s. If a ref missed 6 blatant holds in a row, no one really cared because the broadcast didn’t have 12 cameras in the stadium with a shot on every player.

Why would they trade away what they did to get Russell Wilson?  I always hope teams will do foolish things.   Like, for example, why would the Vikings give up a first for Sam Bradford?  Why would the Titans trade AJ Brown?    Because Howie played a Jedi mind trick on these GMs.   I can hope for the future that others will follow suit.

Why is Stubbs even talking? He's a backup catcher who hopefully won't play one inning in these playoffs. Thomson should tell him to shut the ef up unless you're a regular player and even then, I don't like it.

Eagles should try to get Xavier Woods from the Panthers. He's not a Budha Baker/Justin Simmons level player but he checks a ton of boxes on and off field.

Well, he's already played one inning in these playoffs.

 

 

But, yes, Topper needs (or maybe better yet, one of the leaders on the team needs) to tell him to shut his yap to the press.   The Phillies were motivated by the "Atta boy, Harper" comment and that was less inflammatory (imo) than jumping in the AZ pool.

If i didn’t have work I’d have taken him up on the free tickets. Game at 2 pm there’s no way i can get out of work in time and then make the 1.5 drive to the stadium.

Yup it’s the same type of thing Phillies used with Arcia and the fans used with Kelly running his mouth. Like no reason to say crap until you win 4 games. Win 4 and just do it.

I'll throw out Kyle Dugger from New England as a less splashy but still good option at safety

I like that! I liked Dugger coming out of college and feel he’d be a good option. Just add talent to this secondary. We desperately need it.
