Imposing your will on the other team is the basis of the game. It is a great play. 

So sick of people now all of a sudden whining about a QB sneak. Its been around since the game itself and completely legal so now people want to cry about it???? SMH they are truly sissifying this league to the point where you don't even want to watch.....Jalen squats a 600 so that is the main reason for the success of it.....

They did ban pick plays, because the 49ers used to just own teams with it, but it’s kind of stupid for teams and media to go this insane over a QB sneak.

The stupidest part is the argument against it is "it doesn't look like a football play."

It's well within the rules. The formation is legal. The runner is eligible. "But it doesn't look nice."

Pick plays are inherently unfair to the defense. The offense could send a player out to impede a defender covering a receiver, but the defense is not allowed to do anything to impede that player? The rules had to be amended. 

QB sneak, brotherly shove is old-school throwback football. Three yards and a cloud of dust. Bodies on bodies. Strongest team gains yardage. So what if it is boring and ugly?

It's a fine football play. Leave the Eagles version of the QB sneak alone.

One of the most storied franchises is the Green Bay Packers. One of the most iconic plays in their history is a QB sneak to win the Ice Bowl. The play is still talked about fondly 56 years later. 
 

For 20 years, Tom Brady made a habit of picking up TDs or first downs with sneaks in short yardage situations. No one ever said, "Yeah, but it looks like a rugby play”. 
 

It’s blatant hypocrisy. The media just wants something to talk about.

It's only boring and ugly when you are on the receiving end of it.   (And I say that as a guy who would prefer they NOT go to that well so frequently, because I see it as a potential injury risk for the QB to be inviting tons and tons of players to launch themselves at his head.) 

 

The biggest issue with it for me is that it is not a 'sneak', it is a 'HEY, we are about to run you over for the yardage we need.  Try to stop us.' play.   There's nothing 'sneaky' about it.  It is massively telegraphed.  Which is fine.  People knew Lombardi's power sweep was coming too.  Stopping it is the issue.

I live in PA, have since the mid 90's. Have family and friends that are Eagles fans. I joined because I enjoy talking with Eagles fans...except the ones who feel the need to act like a d-bag for no reason.... you know, like you do.
