Suppose the Eagles kept T.O. and traded McNabb before 2005?
Procus ·That could have been a move that set the team up for an extended Super Bowl run in retrospect. Trade McNabb for a haul - likely two firsts and more, and dump his contract and baggage. He was never the same after that Super Bowl anyway. Draft Aaron Rodgers and find a stopgap like Jeff Garcia for a couple of years. Give T.O. his money and glory. Howie might have jumped all over a move like this if he was the GM back then.

Study: NFL players are 4 times more likely to die from neurodegenerative disease
eglz1 ·It's kind of long to post the whole thing. What surprised the researchers (and me): Skill-position players had a neurodegenerative disease listed as a cause of death at nearly twice the rate of offensive and defensive linemen, "potentially related to greater cumulative g-force exposure, which [has] been associated with higher [neurodegenerative disease] risk," according to the study. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49317702/study-nfl-players-4-s-more-likely-die-neurodegenerative-disease

The Haley Lesson
time2rock ·The Haley Lesson Posted June 28th, 2026 Charles Haley had an amazing career. He was a 5-time Pro Bowler, won 5 Super Bowls, finished with 100.5 career sacks, 25 FFs and made the Hall of Fame. Not too shabby for a fourth round pick. Haley was also a HOF whacko who drove his teammates and coaches crazy. He was ideal on the field, but a real headache off of it. Haley went to James Madison and played at a high level. Bill Walsh saw him make one amazing play on tape and was sold that Haley was a le

Jalen Hurts as Starting QB in Philadelphia

Underrated Offseason?
time2rock ·Underrated Offseason? Posted July 3rd, 2026 It can be tough to judge an offseason because sometimes you need time and context for it. Back in 2004 the Eagles traded for TO and signed Jevon Kearse. There was immediate celebrating. There were key moves in 2017 that stretched over months and didn’t get the same attention (Patrick Robinson, Chris Long, LeGarrette Blount), but turned out to be keys to winning the franchise’s first Super Bowl. Have we underrated how good this offseason was? Seth Wa

The New Offense
time2rock ·There has been quite a bit of praise coming from the players about Mannion and the new offense he is installing. I know … normally I’d say, "what else do you expect them to say?” But this feels different. This feels genuine. I am guessing there will be some lumps early as players continue to get used to the new scheme but (obviously) hopeful that as the season progresses the offense is firing. I don’t recall this much excitement from the players with any of our previous OCs (including Moo -
Which Eagles are likely headed elsewhere in 2027?
time2rock ·Which Eagles are likely headed elsewhere in 2027? The Eagles have a roster full of young, talented players. They can't afford to keep them all. For several, the 2026 season will be their last in Philly. By Geoff Mosher PhillyVoice Staff Geoff Burke/Imagn Images A down season would force the Eagles to make a tough decision next offseason on Saquon Barkley. Even without A.J. Brown, the Eagles have a roster loaded with talented players at every position. Many of them are young, and have the pote

Who will re-sign before the season
Rob331 ·While Jalen Carter has been and will continue sucking all the air out of this discussion, there are several starters and key back-up Eagles going into their contract year and Howie has to make several decisions. Let's look at the free agents to be - CB - Ric Wollen, not much chance to re-sign him. We have big paydays coming for Q and Cooper. Wollen wants to go into free agency with a solid hear behind him. Not much chance for new deals for Jonathan Jones, Ringo, of Bennett. Whatever happens a

Makai Lemon Comp
time2rock ·Makai Lemon Comp Posted June 25th, 2026 Let’s talk about an undersized Big Ten wide receiver who lacked ideal speed and was drafted by the Eagles. You’re thinking of Makai Lemon. I’m thinking of Calvin Williams. He was 5-11, 190 and set receiving records at Purdue. The Eagles spent a mid-round pick on Williams and he went on to have a productive career with them. Back in the 90’s there used to be a magazine called Ultimate Sports Pro Football that put out annual scouting reports on all the sta

Four Pillars
time2rock ·Four Pillars Posted June 24th, 2026 The last decade has been a golden age of Eagles football. The team went to three Super Bowls and won two of them. They came painfully close to winning the other. There was only one losing season. Winning is expected. Anything less than being a SB contender is considered an off-year. There is a lot of credit for the success since 2017. The team hired good head coaches in Doug Pederson and Nick Sirianni. There were some great assistants, from Jim Schwartz and

time2rock ·Eagles sign Markel Bell, get entire 2026 draft class under contract The Eagles have signed OT Markel Bell and the entire 2026 draft class is now under contract. By Dave Zangaro • Published June 23, 2026 The Eagles on Tuesday signed third-round offensive tackle Markel Bell to his four-year rookie deal. That means that all eight picks are now under contract with over a month to go before the start of training camp. Back in the day, there would be some angst about getting rookie contracts done b

time2rock ·Biggest Eagles questions by position in 2026: Offense Looking at the biggest questions for the Eagles by position on offense in 2026. By Dave Zangaro • Published June 22, 2026 We’re still over a month away from the start of Eagles training camp, which gives us plenty of time to ponder the biggest questions about the 2026 team. Remaining holes to fill after draft
ManchesterEagle ·The roster and depth chart looks in pretty good shape after the draft (including the trade for Greenard which sorts our DE issues). Even with the inevitable AJ trade, our WR depth is pretty deep now. For me, there are three areas still to address over the next couple of months: 1) Interior line. The depth looks really weak here at the moment. Both Dickinson and Jurgens are injury risks. Feel like they definitely need to add a vet here. Would Becton work here again? 2) Safety. Appreciate they a -

AJ Brown Traded to the Patriots (Receive 2028 1st and 2027 5th Round Picks)
time2rock ·Curious to know what everyone thinks is going to happen with AJ this offseason. Does he get traded? Seems he was pretty checked out all season and was never more obvious than the WC game this past weekend. Maybe it is time for a change in scenery for him? Maybe they feel his attitude is disrupting team chemistry too much? Or do you think he is back, either because most of that nonsense seems to be overblown or just because the salary cap ramifications make it extremely difficult to do so (or per -

Minicamp Talk
time2rock ·Minicamp Talk Posted June 10th, 2026 The Eagles held a mandatory minicamp practice on Tuesday and will have another one today to wrap up the spring. Then the next action will be Training Camp. As a reminder, don’t overreact to anything from a minicamp, good or bad. The biggest takeaway is that the defense is off to a strong start. That’s to be expected with them in year three under Vic Fangio and coming off consecutive seasons as a Top 5 unit. This unit is more talented and looks to have impro

I don't get Keyshawn James-Newby
Rob331 ·Why in the world would Howie use a draft pick on a 6'1" 240 pound edge player? It just seems like another wasted 7th round draft pick like Anrwan Powell-Ryland. I actually think Weru would have been a more likely pick than James-Newby. Edge players on the board when James-Newby was selected were included - Anthony Lucas, Southern Cal - 6'5" 256 Mason Reiger, Wisconsin - 6'5" 251 Tyreek Sapp, FLorida 6'2" 273 Nadame Tucker, Western Michigan 6'2" 251 Vincent Anthony Jr, Duke, 6'6" 258 I can th

Minicamp – Day 2
time2rock ·Minicamp – Day 2 Posted June 11th, 2026 The Eagles concluded their mandatory minicamp yesterday. Let’s jump right in to what went on in the final practice before Training camp begins in late July. Tanner McKee was finally QB2, with Andy Dalton dropping to QB3. This was the first time the media got to see McKee in that role this spring. Jimmy Bama had some thoughts on that competition. Tanner McKee got second-team reps for the first time in media-attended practices. The Eagles have said that h

The Eagles fleeced the Patriots in the A.J. Brown trade
time2rock ·The Eagles fleeced the Patriots in the A.J. Brown trade A deep examination into how and why the Eagles got the best of the Patriots in the trade for A.J. Brown. By Jimmy Kempski PhillyVoice Staff Eric Canha/Imagn Images A.J. Brown may have a good season or two left in him, but this is a trade the Patriots will probably regret in a few years. It has been assumed for most of the 2026 offseason that the Philadelphia Eagles would be trading WR A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots. The unknown w
