November 28, 20231 yr Author Kelce says they call it the QB Sneak, but they have a code word for it when they call the play that he won't reveal. I would love to know what that code word is.

December 3, 20231 yr They’ll still be successful with a regular QB sneak. They gonna ban that one too?
December 3, 20231 yr Sounds typical of Goodell. He must really enjoy life with his nose permanently wedged in Jerry Jones’ dirt star.
December 6, 20231 yr Interesting article here which gives some of the back story to the refinement of the Shove https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-67613873
December 6, 20231 yr Author Kelce on the New Heights podcast said he's tired of the discussion, go ahead and ban it, they're good at regular QB sneak anyway. He said the shove isn't really what makes it work anyway it just helps. He pointed out they were good at the QB sneak before they used the shove.
December 7, 20231 yr What ticks me off is that if the cowboys, chiefs or one of the other NFL darling teams were running it they would say its the greatest play ever ran but because it’s the Eagles they want it banned, typical.

Like I said before, One of the most iconic plays in one of the most storied franchise's history, is Bart Starr's sneak to win the Ice Bowl, a play that is still celebrated. for 20 years, Brady made a living picking up 1st downs and touchdowns in short yardage situations with sneaks. I've felt for a long time that Mr Philly is 100% right. The Brotherly Shove is an issue because neither the Eagles or Hurts have become media darlings in near the same way Brady was and Mahomes is now.
December 16, 20231 yr Just watched the Vikings fail on both 3rd and 4th down on the shove in OT. After the Bengals had failed on it in the 4th quarter. But hey, it's unstoppable and should be banned, right?🙄

But hey, it's unstoppable and should be banned, right?🙄 Yup... it isn't about anything other than execution. Eagles execute it. Other teams don't and fail. It is only a competitive advantage like any other play in NFL history. Execution beats anything else. Lombardi's sweep was known and was very hard to stop, because of how well they executed it. Same for the Shove. But, as Kelce said, they were almost unstoppable with the QB sneak before Sirianni ever got here. Under Doug, with Wentz under center, the team was really really good at sneaks. And the constant in this is Kelce and having some huge studs at either RG (Brooks) or LG (Dickerson).
