Canes just had to kneel down, and victory was theirs.  Instead, some bonehead coach inexplicably calls a handoff play, which handoff was fumbled, recovered by Georgia Tech, who drove down the field to score at the buzzer.  Go figure.  Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
