Consider everyone is geared up to knock off the nfc champs and nobody takes us lightly, plus 3 national televised games out of 5, I think there’s a case to be made this years 5-0 start was more improbable discuss I disagree bc last year we didn't know Hurts was gonna take such a huge leap, also didn't know our D was gonna be racking up those sacks. Yes we haven't dominated every team like most of us thought. But 2 new coordinators is a huge thing. I'm hoping by the time we reach the crazy part of our schedule (playoff teams) the team will be more acclimated to each other.
October 10, 20232 yr I think this years is more impressive but last years was a bigger surprise. But this years is really about a team just focusing on the task in hand each week. We heard all off season that teams struggle after losing in the SB. We heard about the SB hangover and how this was going to be a bumpy start to the year. And yet here we are. We’ve negotiated the first 5 weeks and have an opportunity to move up 6-0 next week. And look there’s more to come! This team can absolutely improve. In fact they can and they will I’m sure.
October 10, 20232 yr 5-0 is 5-0 Both are impressive. Last year because it kind of came as a surprise. This year because everyone feared the dreaded "Super Bowl hangover" in addition to losing both coordinators and quite a few players.
October 10, 20232 yr I think this years is more impressive considering the players and coaches we've lost. Not fused though - i'll take either!

I'm not sure why people always feel the need to pick and choose one over the other. Going 5-0 is difficult regardless. There are so many factors from changes in players and coaches, to strength of schedule and the preseason expectations. If I had to pick one that's more impressive, I guess I'd pick last year because it wasn't expected. And this year the expectations coming off the Super Bowl were high with an easier schedule early and tougher opponents later. What's impressive is the first time in franchise history doing it 2 years in a row.

October 10, 20232 yr Chris Long speaking about the Eagles. He makes a great point about the complaints that there's something wrong with the Eagles or that they're not blowing teams out. He compares them to the Patriots when they were winning. They adjust to the game to use whatever is needed to win. It's why I like that Hurts is always focused on winning games regardless of personal stats. The Patriots weren't usually known for big plays or blowout wins. A lot of times they would dink and dunk down the field, play methodical and strategic, and not always win by huge score differentials. But they won.
October 10, 20232 yr TBH, I was a little scared that the team wasn't going to be able to keep the winning culture from last year, just because we haven't really seen an Eagles team dominate year after year since 2001-2004. So, the 5-0 start and the way they keep winning despite not having played their best football, confirms to me that last season wasn't a fluke and we can be ready for many more years like this. As long as Sirianni and Hurts are here, we should be able to win at least one Lombardi in the next 5-6 years.
October 11, 20232 yr Gotta be concerned with the Red Zone struggles. I'd like to see this team at 9-0 going into that stretch against the Chiefs, Bills, 49ers, Cowboys, and Seahawks. I would be glad to skip through that stretch, be easier on my heart health.

True but we got a massive gift finishing up the season against NYG (2) and Arizona. Those games could be key in much needed wins for seeding and getting guys back from potential injury before the playoff run.

I agree that the red zone issues are a concern, but that’s a problem that can be corrected. Injuries are probably a bigger concern. Fortunately most of their injuries so far have been no longer than a month and they are finding backups who are coming in and producing for them. I feel like the red zone play calling and production will improve as the season goes on.
October 15, 20231 yr People are looking for flash while the Eagles are out there just doing what they do.

October 15, 20231 yr I will say this i think the Eagles are fortunate to have the schedule set up so that they have a lot easier "warmup" games earlier in the season to get their act in gear. Now i feel this team has a much better chance of beating good teams like the Chiefs on the road than if things were flipped and they played the tough games early. The only real worry i have are Bills and Niners games. Niners especially if the media keeps downplaying Purdy, he is going to have a huge chip on his shoulder coming into the game.

Let’s see how good the 49ers are when the Eagles force Purdy to beat them, because the Eagles defense makes them one dimensional. Also who have the 49ers played yet? The fraudulent cowgirls who talk a good game, but can’t even beat Arizona? The Bills just lost to Jacksonville. I mean seriously why are we weekly afraid the Eagles are going to lose so easily to these other teams who are struggling in games too? Don’t worry about any of these teams. They have to prove they can beat the Eagles.

The media is downplaying Purdy? What channels are you watching? All I keep hearing is how he is the next tom Brady . Besides Purdy isn't freaking Michael Jordan I wouldn't be worried about him having a chip on his shoulder 🤣
October 16, 20231 yr Well the first loss came much sooner this time and the doom and gloom has set in. Not going to act like they played well against the Jets. They played like crap. Hopefully the injuries aren’t too severe.
