Posted October 16, 20232 yr The eagles have been wildly inconsistent on offense over the first 6 games. Brian Johnson playcalling has been frustrating, his use of the talent has been lacking and the creativity is lousy. But the other thing is the offense is turning the ball over too much and the defense hasn't got as many turnovers. Defensively, they seem to have gradually gotten better despite the injuries to the defensive backfield, Nakobe Dean and Jalen Carter. The eagles need to get this offense straightened out, be more consistent, get better in the red zone, stop the turnovers. I think it's the reason that they have not looked as good as advertised. They may pile up yards but who cares if they can't get it in the end zone? Yesterday, to completely give up the run game, was idiotic. There was no reason to completely abandon the strongest part of their game. And Hurts is still not getting thru his progressions fast enough. It's been a slow developing facet of his game and he needs to get faster at it. The offensive line had it's hand full yesterday and the combination of the poor playcalling and Hurt's slow progressions was causing all the problems. They way they have been playing, it was inevitable that they were going to lose a game they absolutely shouldn't. They blew a great opportunity to go a game up on SF and stay 2 games up on the cowpies. Maybe this game snaps them out of listening too much about how talented they are and that they're the best in the NFC....
October 16, 20232 yr They also have to lose their fascination with Gainwell. He isn't that good. I would rather Scott get his touches and evaluate from there. We are also missing a viable WR slot option, or the OC just can't design route trees to get them open
