What don't you get? Yes, they have needs on defense but their #3 WR went on IR last week and they need a veteran.

Multiple things can be true at once.

What I don't get is why a #3 receiver is more important than a starting LB, starting S, or nickel corner.  Multiple things can be true at once, but all needs aren't equal.

It’s not just about what is more important, but about who is actually available. Jones as a 3rd/4th receiving option is a better player than any of the LB, S, or nickel backs sitting out there in free agency.

Unfortunatly not everything is available all the time. So fill the holes you can while you can.

I doubt Roseman is done anyways.

It's not, and just because Jones was signed doesn't mean the team thinks it is either either. Jones was probably a simple transaction.

Exactly. Sure, safety and a slot corner are bigger needs than a 3rd receiver, but there’s nobody out there at those positions who are going to be any better than what they already have.

Can he play CB.........

It's not one or the other. Signing Jones doesn't mean they've stopped looking for help on D. They also signed Josiah Scott off the Steelers PS today.  Lots of moving parts.

And in other news, Eagles plan on adding Tommy McDonald and Harold Carmichael to the practice squad

Meh…good luck getting Jalen to come off his first read before he bails to the right and runs around like it’s pop Warner football.

The last time we signed a couple of vets in a position of need it worked out pretty well and we got to a superbowl. Not saying this is the case but some older guys can still do a job

You need more than 2 receivers. Quez sucks, and Jones as a #3 at this point in his career. Makes perfect sense.

Yeah I get that totally....but I would think the more immediate need would be at corner....thats all....

I remember similar talk when the Eagles traded for Jay Ajayi.  We don't need another RB people were saying.

Just because the Eagles signed a receiver doesn't mean the team won't be signing a DB

The Eagles have a spot after putting Quez on IR last weekend, although they promoted Devon Allen and Greg Ward remains on the practice squad. Interesting move.

No open spot on the 53 right now.  Guessing they filled that when they activated Dean from IR.

While you have a point, it's not like we need All-Pros at those positions.  We just need help/depth there after the body bag game we just had.  For the right price I'm not against the Julio signing, it was just kind of comical timing there.

Yeah, holding out hope there.  There's gotta be a defensive depth player or two that could help us out for a few weeks.

I would like to believe that if it was any team other than the Eagles.  They have undervalued LBs and Safeties for decades.

Well yeah, it's not one or the other but there's a limited number of roster spots.  Holding out hope there though.

Super bowlzzzzzzz

Oh thank god for that. Our season is saved.

1) Howie is continuously looking to improve any and all areas of the roster

2) Even though there are bigger needs at other areas (secondary) that doesn’t mean WR wasn’t a need with Quez hitting IR

3) Having said 1 + 2, part of me thinks this move is somewhat of a knee jerk reaction to the offense not really looking up to snuff (pretty much since the season started) which led to our first loss of the season.  But I place the blame on that more on the play design and play calling than I do personnel.  The overall scheme seems to be lacking creativity … it looks somewhat vanilla and predictable.  Obviously sloppy play and turnovers play a huge role but … overall the offense has not been clicking.

AJ, Devonta, Julio, Goedert, Swift, Jalen = Superstar Offense.  Let's Go!!!!

At this point in his career I’m not sure how effective he will be, but they did need another body after Quez went down, and it gives people something to talk about other than the loss. Low risk move that changes the narrative on talk radio.

Completely agree with you there! It’s a good distraction from the loss and it is something for everyone to get a little bit excited about.

I get the negativity, given his age.

I bet he will soon be viewed as a key signing.

He’s not here to steal the long bomb, we can cross the field just fine.

He’s here to run the final few yards in the endzone and catch it there. To help our red-zone troubles. Pretty sure he can still do that with one arm strapped behind his back.

Like he did in the 2017 playoffs...🤔

Julio had just a bit over 200 yards last year catching passes from Tom Brady

Like I said he's washed

Having said that he's probably an upgrade over oz and an injured Quez.
