Jones with Tom Brady in 10 games had his lowest success% in his career, his lowest yardage and receotion total, lowest catch% rate, least amount of tds and lowest yards per target in his career but sure he's still good.

He's art monk, James lofton, Roy green...

What do all those players have in common, they all signed with the eagles way past their prime and did absolutely nothing as birds.

Having said that Julio is probably better than Oz at this point.

We'll see I'm not expecting much from him.

Like he did in the 2017 playoffs...🤔

Julio had just a bit over 200 yards last year catching passes from Tom Brady

Like I said he's washed

Having said that he's probably an upgrade over oz and an injured Quez.

I agree that he’s washed, but so was Tom Brady last year.  It’s not impossible that we are happy with what he does.

I think he’ll make a couple big catches that make us say oh look he’s here making plays….but by the end of the year, he’s going to have really anemic numbers overall.  Pascal, Jordan Matthews part 2…those kinds of numbers.

I'll be happy if he can be a willing and effective blocker on bubble screens.

Siri would often talk about the enforcer Role that Pascal and JJAW played before him and if Julio can embrace that role he could be good at it, he's big and physical and can bully DBs and throwing him a few bones along the way for his efforts can't hurt.

I’ll be very impressed if he’s willing to be a consistent, physical blocker.  That’s a tough ask of a 34 year old HOF WR on his 4th or 5th team.

Completely agree with you there! It’s a good distraction from the loss and it is something for everyone to get a little bit excited about.

Jones doesn’t really excite me that much. I am wondering what he has left.

While you have a point, it's not like we need All-Pros at those positions.  We just need help/depth there after the body bag game we just had.  For the right price I'm not against the Julio signing, it was just kind of comical timing there.

That's the exact point I was making......

He is depth for a position they're extremely thin at and an injury away from potential disaster. They're currently carrying 3 guys on the active roster and he can provide some vet leadership. He isn't going to be a red zone threat, even at his peak his numbers in the RZ were poor, but if one of our guys go down you can plug him in and get more than you would get from Allen. It's a good practice squad signing. If he is cooked they can completely cut bait and lose nothing

AJ, Devonta, Julio, Goedert, Swift, Jalen = Superstar Offense.  Let's Go!!!!

Not without Lane Johnson.  If LJ is out, Eagles are a below average team.

That's mainly true if they play like LJ is in there, which they did most of last game. A liability at RT can be schemed around. More 12 personnel.

He was hurt. How many games did he even play? And like I said, he doesn’t have to run a deep go route down field we are fine getting to the end zone. Just need a big guy with good hands getting it in there..

Can he play LB, too?

Possible signing ?

I think Claypool would have been a better signing than Jones, but we’ll see the head to head Sunday night.

Jones was free and not a head case.

Lane is essential but that's still some powerful weapons.  Julio is an upgrade at the 3rd WR, let's not act like this man hasn't put up serious yards because he has.  Is he older?  Sure but he's still a talented WR that can make big catches.

Eh, I'm only half excited because this means that Quez is probably done here. I don't expect anything from Julio, so if he comes in and actually contributes then it's a bonus.  I'm more worried about LJ and our depleted secondary.

Probably has more to offer than Watkins so whilst I don’t think he has a lot I think it’s a slight upgrade.

I dint disagree but still think he's washed, he had career lows in every statistical category imaginable

Yards/target, success% which I don't even know what it is, yards/ reception, yards, tds receptions, catch % all career lows.

Having said that he's still probably better than Oz. And could be a good blocker on bubble screens.

Oh thank god for that. Our season is saved.

List the better options at this moment in time.

We'll wait.

Lets face it, if you're an eagles receiver or TE and your names not Smith, Brown or Goedert, you'll be lucky to get more than 150 yards per season

Maybe they're gonna put jones in as an additional blocker to help driscoll

Perhaps he can be someone who can take on some intermediate catches. One thing is for sure if they threw him that screen he’s getting the first down.

.

I don't get the negativity. Manager your expectations.  The Eagles were in fairly urgent need of size, experience and depth at WR. They don't need him to be the game breaker he was a decade ago - he's not that guy anymore.  But he runs precise routes, is still 6'3 225, will immediately have the trust of his teammates and by all counts is a great fit culturally.
