List the better options at this moment in time.

We'll wait.

To replace Quez?

OZ, Landry, Beasley, Robbie Anderson, Kenny Golladay, Reagor yes him.

Bring in a TE like Fant, Jesse James, hell Kyle Rudolph or bring back Richard Rodgers and let Goedert play the Slot more.

Personally I’d rather they addres the CBs or S. And no Josiah Scott is not addressing CB.

I don't get the negativity. Manager your expectations.  The Eagles were in fairly urgent need of size, experience and depth at WR. They don't need him to be the game breaker he was a decade ago - he's not that guy anymore.  But he runs precise routes, is still 6'3 225, will immediately have the trust of his teammates and by all counts is a great fit culturally.

I don't think it's a bad pickup and assuming he doesn't drop easy passes, he'll contribute more than Watkins.  I think most people just view it as unnecessary as we have bigger holes to fill than WR.

I understand why people see bigger issues. How about someone in the secondary other than Craig James? The receivers are a problem though. Smith has been somewhat struggling all season. There are a lot of receiver drops. The drop off in talent from Goedert to the next guy is steep when it comes to catching passes. Watkins has been useless. OZ hasn’t made much of an impact yet. The receivers have been low key an issue.

Maybe he'll be 2023's Jay Ajayi. Not particularly a 'need' but contributed to a ring.

So I heard Smith now missed practice with a bad hammy he aggravated against the Jets so Jones might have to become more than just an extra. He might need to play as soon as he gets this offense down. If nothing else he can use his body to get out there and block.

So we fell victim to the trap game and brought in a camp body who may end up contributing for the real test? Who'da thunk'd?

If Smith is out it could force us to actually run the ball a bit more.

Called runs for Hurts no doubt.

They'll run 2 RB sets where one is in the slot

I wouldn't be surprised if Gainwell, Scott and Swift are all on the field at once on a number of occasions

Perhaps he can be someone who can take on some intermediate catches. One thing is for sure if they threw him that screen he’s getting the first down.

Yeah he’s not going to be dynamic and I doubt he’s going to go much as a deep threat but I’m sure he can bring us a good safe pair of hands.

Signing Jones has ZERO to to do with addressing the other issues. They needed WR help AND DB AND LB, etc.

It's not one or the other. It's all of the above.

Agreed. I mean he wasn’t the best receiver as a whole, but he was tough, played special teams, and he blocked. He certainly was more willing to make catches in crowds. All Quez does is run fast.

We can agree to disagree.  I think the issues with the offense stem more from the play calling, rather than the WR position.  I mean, didn't Brown just set an NFL record with receiving yards in consecutive games? Plus, it's not like Smith and Dallas are bums. We haven't had much issue moving the ball downfield, but we have been inconsistent in the redzone, which I attribute to the play calling, so I stand by my "we're fine there" stance.

Watkins and Smith were both hurt.  They were down to 2 WRs so they added Julio Jones.  Today, Smith is back at practice which is good.  But Jones essentially replaces Watkins.

They also added Josiah Scott and Mario Goodrich in the secondary.  So they CAN address the WR position and secondary at the same time.  We may not like the guys they addressed it with, which is a another case.

Watkins is on IR and Smith is day-to-day with a hamstring.  They needed help at WR.  That doesn't mean they stopped looking for help at other positions of need. Howie is multitasking.

So we have 5 or 6 guys hurt on defense and we sign a receiver?  I don't get it.

Maybe Julio Jones can play CB, Safety and LB in the pinch... Why also would they sign him? .LOL

Yeah its not like the receivers cant get open. They can. Or the Oline not giving Hurts enough time. Well most of the time they are. And Hurts has at least average accuracy. So what other issue can there be? This offense should be averaging 30pts a game.
