Let's not kid ourselves, we're still winning in spite of Brian Johnson, not because of him

Would like to see less empty back sets, and Hurts under Center more. Play action off of that.

And try to get some reps for the other two RBs on the roster maybe?? I don't understand their fascination with Kenny G.

Dude needs to burn the QB draw playbook.  2 in the RZ, one of them 10 yards out of the endzone, dude just stop.

There is a real lack of creativity with Johnson,.....

They're 6-1......so it's hard to complain.

Desai has been getting better every week and just shut down the dolphins....

Meanwhile on the other side of the ball, I love Desai.

These are the facts Brian Johnson Offense is #2 in Total Yards behind a Historic Miami Offense.  The Team is 6-1.  AJ Brown is doing better than last year.   This is Brain's first year. How about give this man some time before trying to run him out of town.  Some of you did not have this same smoke when Shane and Siri's Offense wasn't doing great in 2021.  We gave them time because it was their 1st season and then 2022 happen.  Brian deserves time to grow into the role.

I disagree bud. Many people wanted Sirianni fired especially after the flower talk. People ripped the Eagles run heavy Steichen offense too, although most of that was due to fans believing Hurts was holding everything back. Nobody wants to hear that the offense is statistically at the same clip as last season. Don’t get me wrong there are things Johnson needs to improve, but I agree with you that he needs time to develop. Steichen didn’t become a SB level OC until the following year himself and even them he was often criticized for running Jalen too much. Johnson needs time. I’m not worried.

This is the NFL, u dont get a whole year to learn on the job, especially for a team with a SB roster. If that was actually what Siri intended when he hired BJ then he should be criticized too.

We gave Steichen a pass in 2021 because we had a rookie QB and a rookie #1 WR and the other WR was Jalen Reagor. No one was expecting them to be a great offense.

I mean BJ has already been booed at least twice during home games. If the message is still not getting thru then i dunno what will.

The bottom line it's his first year and the Eagles Offense is only behind Miami in total Offensive.  I don't do all this overanalyzing and nitpicking everything.  I don't have problem with constructive criticism but I also don't care about style points.  Is the Offense putting up points? Yes.  Are they getting Yards? Yes. Are they winning? Yes.    I mean you could throw rocks at the redzone stuff but that's even got better the last two weeks.  As for Fans booing him, that comes with the job for any coach or position. I don't really view that as a big deal. Everyone gets booed in Philly.  I don't have an issue with that.

I have an issue with people calling for him to be Fired after 7 games when the Eagles have the 2nd Best Offense in Yards in the league and a 6-1 record. If this is a Result business and the Eagles are winning then you have to give credit to the OC too.  When the Eagles Defense let Mac Jones, Kirk and Sam Howell put up big numbers, we all gave Desai time to grow while understanding the injury issues. Since then he's shut down Zach Wilson, Stafford and Tua.   Also we aren't the exact same team as last year. I never expected us to look exactly like last year. There are new pieces and team members and coordinators. My only point is the jury is still out.

How else is Johnson going to learn? He's a rookie offensive coordinator and I highly doubt it was Siriannis call to promote him

Ironically, the Eagles are in the top 4 in points scored, and in the top 3 in total yards.   So relative to the rest of the league, they're doing a lot of things right.

Red zone has been an issue though...  1) Using Gainwell in the Red Zone seems silly, but he did score a TD yesterday.  2) It seems like  opposing teams always anticipate what they're going to do, but this week was much better.

If we were losing then it would be a problem. Of course he needs to improve (so does siri), but he's not doing too badly overall

This thread needs a title change.

I'll bet you're alone in "fist place" you freak.

:P

I said this before... we don't know who's making the final calls. It's a group decision process from Siri all the way to Hurts. Hell come to think of it maybe even Kelce has some role in how things are called considering that he makes the calls for the OL. Siri designing and overriding plays game time, Johnson calling plays some of the time I guess, Hurts checking to plays. The issues are a collective failure considering that there's no out right play caller that you can point to. When you have an offensive minded HC he tends to put his hands in the cookie jar often. Do you think Johnson is the one saying hey lets run a sneak on our own 20? lol. Also when you have an all-star QB like Hurts... he's going to call his own number more times than not.

Rest of the game was just boring runs up the middle,

If you want excitement, play Madden, if you want wins, you gotta be able to run the ball when needed.

i think that when there's balance to the offense it "feels" like it's running smooth and exudes a confidence that is palpable, but when it's throw, throw, throw, called run to Hurts, called run to Hurts, called run to Hurts, etc., it "feels" disjointed like a bad thing is about to happen at any moment. The rhythm of an offense is orchestrated by the OC through scheme ,design, and play calling. Johnson is a rookie OC and has yet to discover the proper rhythm for the Eagles offense. I hope he develops quickly. There's still a good chance he will. Time will tell.

Nothing anyone can do about it at this point. OC is not a total disaster because of his familiarity with Hurts, but definitely not nearly as original as our previous OC. We are stuck with him for better or for worse. Lets hope he improves as the season progresses.
