Howie’s a genius mastermind this week. In a couple of weeks more, he’ll suck again.

He's been pretty damn good putting rosters together.

I can’t think of a teams fanbase that wouldn’t want him as their GM.

I find it amusing that they blocked out the word "ass" but not the word "Fing".

This one only just a few seasons ago. 🤣

Few seasons? This fan base has been on Howie's junk since he won the Super Bowl. Gotta go back a little further than a few seasons.

I guess we are 5 years removed from the SB at this point. I was referring to the years leading up to the SB.

So much has happened since that game. It seems like it was just the other day. The Eagles won the SB and the world has been essentially chaos ever since.

Pandemics, wars, partisanship, protests, violence in the streets, shoplifting gangs of crazy teens and on and on.

Worlds out of balance... means the Eagles need to win another one to re-balance the force. :)

I think part of the ability to do what Howie does is the eagles pro scouting department.  They keep tabs on veterans, contract & salary cap issues, players who were demoted after a coordinator change because of lack of fit in new system, guys coming back from injury and a host of other facets that give Howie the window to present options that no other GM is willing to take advantage of......

Plus he accumulates later round draft picks that seem to be excessive, but really come in handy when making trades like this.

The eagles are projected to have 8 picks in 2024 with 4 of them predicted to be compensatory picks.  But you can bet that Howie will pick up 2-3 more late rounders before that draft.

They keep tabs on veterans,

Absolutely this. They do their due diligence and they look out for guys who may be on the move and whether they would be a fit. And quite often they pan out. Not always but then the trade prices are generally so low it just doesn’t matter.

Which makes them worth a little more i.e. will be higher in the round than if it were Eagles own picks. Probably top half of round as opposed #32! Although Bucks might pull off a division win in that crappy division.

But meh, both are back of the draft picks and we still have another 4 picks in Rd 5. The trade is awesome

While it's always better to have higher picks, I think the point he was making is Howie dealt "extra" picks that weren't the Eagles original picks.  One of them was even originally a Titans pick we gave back to them.

If he helps win games and they win a Super Bowl this year, no one will care about 5th and 6th round picks.  They already have a bunch of comp picks in the 5th round coming.  They actually have traded away all their own original picks in rounds 3 and after.  Their only original picks are 1 and 2, and they have the Saints 2nd.  He'll probably trade back at some point or do some other trade to acquire another pick or 2.  He trades up a lot when he wants to.

I wouldn't worry about draft position in the 5th and 6th round, when they add a veteran player to help them get over the hump to win a SB.

to be fair, people said the same with Penny over Sanders 🤣

To be fair... Sanders only has 190 more yards than Penny so far this season lol.

Feel good about this trade.  Now the back end is secured.  Only defense weakness is the LB group.  If the DL and coverage are doing their jobs, the LB won't be all that critical.  What we have may just be adequate.

They also said Penny was injured a lot.

Byard is not.

Does Byard start this Sunday?

Or does he need time to learn the scheme?

Hope to see him out there picking off Howell!

he is a 2 time pro-bowler and 8 year vet, who is also known for game film study work, he will most definitely be starting.

Reckon he'll start and they will rotate ghost and brown

He did not do well today but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt since he just got here and played off the bat.

He didn't even practice this week. Had to fly to Philly, meet coaches & players, get the playbook, only had a walkthrough in pads then travel for an away game.

Full practice this week then a bye week to catch up.

The trade was for the long-term season.

He did break up a couple passes today. Let's see how he progresses.

SUCKS!! Trade him back to Tenn for a 2nd rounder??
