I'm loving Sean Desai. Not even halfway through his first year as DC and he is a massive upgrade. He realizes you have to take chances playing against Good QBs. You can't just play a vanilla safe scheme and hope for the best. Our OC may be struggling but the guy running the D is a home run.

And now he has a new all pro on the back end to play with.

He basically shut down an offense that is on a historical pace with a severely thin secondary and a very young defense as a whole.  Impressive stuff!  Byard is a big upgrade!

now if johnson can figure it out we’ll be unstoppable

So far. I agree. The Defense is much better under Desai. Gannon sucked in more ways than I can count.

Why do we have to bring up Gannon in any way? Couldn’t we just talk about Desai and give the former Temple guy his props for shutting down Miami and holding them to 10 offensive points? Also how about how when the Eagles give up a turnover, the defense has mostly held their opponents to no score or field goals? We could discuss how they’re basically the best against the run. Forget Gannon or last year.

Well because Gannon was last years DC. We have improved. It's a fair point to make that the DC position has been upgraded. I also compared the two different philosophies. Hard to do that without mentioning the guy who had said scheme.🤷

I agree with your post.

It's hard to forget how Gannon cost us our second Superbowl though. 🤣

Halftime adjustments.  Shutting down an offense that everyone expected to light up our banged up secondary.  Shut down their run game, made them one dimensional.  Didn't blow a lead.  Kept pressure on the entire game.

Impressed that he's grown each week and adapted despite injuries, uptick in offense turnovers giving them short field position, and facing some potent offensive weapons like Cooper Kupp and Tyreek Hill.

No complaints about Desai at all... Johnson on the other hand is not making a good impression at all...

Desai’s been great but my only complaint is the cushion we give WR’s. If we do that against Washington this week, they’re going to dink and dunk all the way down the field. We need to shorten that cushion and force Washington into longer developing plays. There’s no way their OLine can block us.

There was a series of issues. Him thinking about his next job was one of them.

Desai seems to be getting better as the weeks pass.

I remember when ESP said "we were going to miss Gannon", it was at that point that I decided that ESP is Fing hack and was only trying to spread FUD.

Gannon was good at one thing, beating poor/mediocre QB's

Desai has already beat Stafford and Tua in his first 7 games as DC, which is more meaningful than anything that Gannon did during his tenure.

ESP had a real hard on for Gannon. He defended him at every opportunity. Seltzer kept on telling him that Gannon was trash and that we wouldn’t miss him.

ESP is such a try hard with his takes, he purposely goes against the grain in a lame attempt to rile up the fanbase and generate clicks.

Get him Brian Burns as a reward for not being Gannon!

🎵Gannon Who? Pew Pew Pew.🎵

Yup.  Tua probably shreds the Gannon defense who probably would have Cox in coverage 🙂

This needs repeating.

Desai was not good today. Almost cost him with his lack of adjustments and not sending pressure.
