That was brutal We're not getting enough pressures and sacks for the 40+ times teams throw against us. Safe to say a DE will be the 1st round pick in April with Barnett gone and BG undoubtedly retired. We have 2 good outside corners but the entire middle of the field is weak for us. We don't have any cover lbs and our slot corners are whoever is healthy enough. Howie has got to invest some 4th and 5th round picks in cover LBs and another slot cb

November 6, 20231 yr On another day Dallas easily win the game. They had a lot of drops and 2 TDs that were inches away from counting. the defence is poor, only the game against Miami did we look good

Every team ever has the odd squeaker, the defense will be fine once Byard settles in properly and they get Roby back as a slot.

I will give him somewhat of an excuse. Once again everyone he’s put in the slot has either gotten hurt or were t very good. He’s now stuck to using overmatched safeties out there. Hopefully Roby gets healthy enough to play very soon because this is a real problem. Byard so far hasn’t quite looked like the veteran defender we hoped he would be. I wonder if they’re using him incorrectly. Instead of being more of an in the box safety they’re asking him to be mostly a deep cover guy. So many one on one opportunities given to Lamb this last game just made no sense. Meanwhile the Cowboys pretty much bracket covered Brown all game. Desai got some late game heroics to go with some Dallas screwups to help win this one in the end.

Bud you’re the same guy who created this thread with Gannon who right? Bend don’t break is straight out of Gannon’s playbook and you know it. 😂

They need to compile some CBs and Safeties with relatively high picks. I wish they cared about LBs. Because ours are so overmatched, all the time.

We gave up almost 375 yds and 3 TDs (almost 4) to Dak Prescott. Reducing the outlook to just the pts given up in the 2nd half is a bit myopic. The trend to being very vulnerable through the air is not an encouraging one.
November 6, 20231 yr This is an unpopular opinion, but Desai is overrated at the moment. He did a heck of a job against the Dolphins but the Eagles look pretty average on D at the moment and are middle of the pack. Next 5 weeks are hard and I think we will see how good he really is. The guy who was never properly appreciated here was Schwartz. He did a good job with limited talent and no draft investment. The one year he had decent talent he produced a top 5 D. Even with the Super Bowl he held teams to an average of 17 points per game in the playoffs. Currently running the number 1 D in Cleveland. Wish he was still with us.

Yeah at the time i wasn't happy with him, but looking back it was clear that he had one hand tied behind his back. With the offence misfiring it made things seem worse. At least he blitzed

Hey hey Manchester Eagle is firing his Jim Schwartz appreciation marathon back up. I thought it was over when Jim left 3 years ago but hot damn if he hasn't found a way to shoe horn some more posts in. I'll never forget Manchester's steadfast defence of Jim and his willingness to post how underappreciated Jim was (but not by Manchestereagle, no sir) in every single Monday morning game discussion. Good to see it back. On Desai, I think he's done a stellar job with what he has on the back end, he's trying to win with a 4 man rush and a secondary that can't maintain coverage for crap, you could put any DC in history in charge of our defense and they couldn't make players like Scott, Goodrich, Brown and Ricks into NFL caliber slot corners right now. We're not 8-1 as a bad team.
November 8, 20231 yr The man has been forced to deploy udfa and rookie dbs out there. The cupboard is bare. Hope they start getting guys back post bye or it will likely be more of the same.

Hard to properly run any scheme when the rooks and new pieces are out of position making countless mistakes. For the most part they're preventing the big plays as designed. The mental breakdowns and teams exposing guys who really shouldn't be out there is why they can't get off the field.

They have been scrambling trying to fill the void all season.

Hard to run a scheme when nobody seems to know what the hell they're doing. My biggest gripe is why the hell they aren't matching up personell groupings at times.
