We only appreciate mediocre players and bums around here. We criticize the good to great players. You didn’t get the memo? Seriously this guy is killing it right now and he’s been carrying the offense for several weeks now. One of the best trades Howie ever made.

Just curious about the comparison with A.J. and Owens through 8 games in 2004 (he only played 7 in 2005):

On pace to break the record right?

He's already broken Megatron's record for longest streak of 125yds per game... he's unbelievable. The more opponents focus on him, the more things open up for Smitty. Roseman has been killing it these last few years. It's his world, we just live in it

Almost 1,000 yards only halfway.  Wow.

Receiving yards in a season?  Yes, and so is Tyreek Hill.

One thing I hate about adding the extra game is how it will break records though.

It can't be taken for granted what he's doing right now. We're not too far removed from having to watch Reagor, Arcega-Whiteside, and Fulgham on a weekly basis.

Don't mention the Fulghoat in the same sentence as Reagor and JJ-AWFUL.

We could do wonderous things with a Jabar Gaffney or two...

You left out the great James Thrash.

Owens was a brilliant receiver. 2004 was one of the great seasons in Eagles WR history.

Too bad the other stuff totally overshadowed the rest of his career. Stats aside, I'll take AJ every time.

I don't know why we as fans put more stock in totals than averages. Reggie White had 21 sacks in 12 games during the strike year. People have surpassed that total, but not that average (1.75 per game)

As for the extra game, It could lead to some new season totals, but teams these days usually try to manage the work load of their star players. Then there's stuff like concussion protocol that players in the past weren't subject to. Any player that breaks a "total" record these days should simply be lauded for their durability as much as anything else.

Probably because media, talk shows, stat sites, announcers on broadcasts, etc mostly all focus on totals.

Technically if he can get 61 yards by halftime then he officially hit 1000 yards halfway through the season

100% agree. Everyone drools over Moss’s 23 TD season, but you don’t often hear about the record he broke: Jerry had 22 in that same 12 game strike season. It’s not even in the same stratosphere

Having AJ Brown, D. Smith, Julio Jones, and TE Dallas combined with the best Oline in the league and having HB Swift. Not to mention having a YOUNG Mobile TOP 5 QB in the NFL. It seems unfair to the rest of the teams in the NFL.

Was one of my favourite WR in college and key targets in the infamous JJAW draft. So glad we made up for it and traded for him

Loved the AJ + DK combo at Ole' Miss. Glad to have one of them (and the better one!)

He’s having one hell of a stretch and season so far. Started slow but he’s been money ever since. Hopefully it continues today and for the rest of the season.

He really can do it all.  One of the best WR’s I’ve watched in the past 30 years.

He didn’t get to 125 last night. Bum!!
