March 19Mar 19 Author This one’s a little before the ‘80’s but who remembers this technological achievement? Spent many quarters on this. They had this, Galaga and Missile Command at the Oak Creek Campgrounds.

March 25Mar 25 Author This one was next level when it came out, the graphics were incredible for the time and it cost 2 quarters per game. Challenging at 1st but, unfortunately, we quickly found out that if you just continuously moved the joystick around in a clockwise circle you’d easily beat every level.

April 30Apr 30 Circa 1982..... you were given a book and different lenghts of wire.... every connecting point had a number..... the book then had you connect the points together to make various small electronics.Nice little kit..... came in handy years later when I swapped out capacitors in my Ibanez 6 string.

June 3Jun 3 Author The stereotype is that we who grew up during the’80’s had an unusual amount of freedom and used it recklessly. Also accurate. Back when I was probably 11 or 12 I suffered my 1st concussion. Me and a couple of friends were sledding out back and started playing "hijack” where 2 on runner sleds tried to hijack, overturn” the other who was on a plastic sled. Needless to say one of my friends knocked me off while the other ran over my head with a metal runner. I remember getting up, grabbing my head, running about 10 steps towards my house before falling over again and I don’t remember anything about the rest of the day after that. I also don’t remember my parents saying anything about it ever again. Ever. Good times.
June 3Jun 3 One winter night... 1983 ? 1984 ? A friend who lived on a street that had a hill to it..... we started running down the hill sliding in our sneakers ( too cool and stupid for boots in the winter ) regardless.... repeated trips sliding down the street for what had grown to about 15 kids started to make that road very icy. Walk to the top on the sidewalks.... get a running start and ski without skis down the road to the bottom.... didnt help that one kid went and added a few buckets of water. This ended after a few hours when one kid went down.... fell on his a**..... kept sliding and got jammed under a parked car.One dude whose dad was a mechanic was summoned ( we figured car ? get a mechanic ! ) He had the correct ratchet jack for that particular steel bumper...... cranked it a few times and we had to pull the kid out with a rope.Oddly... the rest of the winter... that street was treated by the township pretty good.Saw that guy about 10 years ago..... still has ptsd about it.Never saw the car again tho.
