He didn't have his best game. But that stat just blows me away. Enough to make it's own thread.

Oh that stat is just insane. And look he didn’t play well tonight but he came up big in big moments. That’s what he does. His stats often don’t jump off the sheet but he just comes up big.

I don’t care about the stats. Hurts is a winner. Rough game most of the night for the offense (and I blame play calling for a HUGE portion of that), but he came through with the biggest play of the game on that Devonta bomb.

Absolutely! This team embodies its QB. Not always pretty but finds a way to win.

To think a lot of us, Philly 500 and myself included, hated Hurts pick and wanted Howie fired. Philly 500 had a rant of century in 2020 Draft day 2.It starts about 1:01:00.

He’s also won 13 consecutive games against teams that had a winning record going into the game. Also an NFL record

He just keeps setting new records after new records. He’s such a special QB.

In their last 30 games, The eagles are 25-2 with Jalen Hurts and 0-3 without him

The OP s hurts hatred was off the scale. Now he’s loving him

That was Hurts' 10th career game with multiple rushing TDs. Ties the all time record for QBs, alongside Cam Newton.

Wow! I mean the guy just finds ways to get in the end zone and put his team in a position to win.

Honestly I don’t think either of the MVP candidates had their best games, but Jalen did make players when it mattered in this game. Mahomes receivers completely let him down though.

I'm able to process new information and adjust accordingly. What's your point?

KC receivers did drop a few but I do think commentators tend to overdo the 'Mahomes couldn't have thrown that much better' schtick, the Valdes-Scantling one was catchable but he'd want it where Hurts put the pass to Smith rather than where it was, the guy had to dive full length. Similarly the game ending miss the guy is trying to high point a rocket, Aikman can say 'if Watson catches it it's a first down' but a pass thrown that high and hard in blustery wet conditions was a prayer at best.

He also had the opportunity for a couple of easy underneath throws that would have picked up first down yardage, instead he ran around trying to make the big play and overshot Kelce in one instance. Neither QB was perfect, Hurts and the D came up in some huge moments down the stretch

Mahomes wasn’t super elite in this game and that interception he threw in the red zone was a terrible pass. Jalen was under duress all game and he stepped up when his team needed him to. The one thing I still don’t get is why the Eagles o are so obsessed with giving Gainwell long stretches of playing time especially while Swift is going off. They handicapped themselves in the second quarter by sitting Swift for Gainwell. This game might not have even been close if they didn’t make that move.

He had some big moments in the playoffs last year and I think they trust him more pass blocking. I also feel Swift hasn't learnt the playbook at times. He looks confused and some of the handoffs with Hurts are worrying. He also gets more east and west in a few situations where he just needs to drive and that's something Gainwell does adequately. I agree Gainwell is nowhere near talent wise, but the coaches seem to have more trust in him

I know and I get why they do it, but I just don’t get why they do it for as long as they do. I mean read the flow of the game. Swift was obviously hot, and Gainwell came in cold. Sprinkle in a little Gainwell here and there and don’t just plug him into a whole half of football. The offense really looked disjointed once he was inserted.

Something I found interesting was they started the half with Scott and then we never saw him again. They did the same thing with Penny a few weeks ago. Was it the offense with Doug and Duce where they built certain packages for certain players and we never saw the hot hand for stretches because they were running packages for player X instead of Y?

As much as I thougt Sanders was expendable (and his stats this year definitely prove it), he was really great with Hurts running the read option. They seem to be missing that in their game this year and it looks so sloppy at times allowing the D to just crash in

Sanders is more talented than Gainwell, but that was his second season in the system with Jalen. They certainly had a better flow, and there are times that Swift and Jalen have had some bad transitions with the read plays for sure. It’s probably still a bit sloppy, because Swift isn’t as used to running the system. I don’t know why they don’t use Penny or Scott more though, and if Swift isn’t picking up the zone read stuff as well then give him more traditional handoffs. That sweep play they ran for him was nice. It doesn’t always have to be the zone stuff.

Gainwell did make at least two excellent blitz pick-ups last night
