Hey what if they just switched and let Swift play the second and Gainwell the first quarter?

Gainwell plays because swift has shown time and time again that he is godawful at picking up blitzes.

There isn't a defense in this league that fears Gainwell.  Swift at least makes them play the run with some conviction.

He also makes them blitz him with conviction.

I thought at the beginning of the season that the RB room would be pretty darn good, and deep.

Meh. It's been pretty average or below average.

Then just keep running the ball

How about they commit to running the ball especially with Swift?

Gainwell was clearly more sturdy through the gaps and tackles. Swift can get chunk yards many times…Gainwell is closer to an every down back against physical teams…it should be pretty obvious watching the last few games.

Okay then let’s look at their high volume games.
week 1 Gainwell had 14 carries for 54 yards zero TDs and got hurt.

week 2 Swift ran the ball 28 times 175 yards and a 1td. And didn’t get hurt.

Sure doesn’t seem like Gainwell is better between the tackles or more sturdy.

I will add these are the rush numbers from week three with virtually the same amount of carries for both players. Clearly Swift is the better option over Gainwell.

Would your breakdown equate to "analytics” or actually watching the games based off of my statement…particularly the more "physical teams” part?
