To be fair, SF has been calling this team fraudulent and garbage for close to a year now and we backed it up by getting curb stomped at home.

And some of us were calling SF frauds when they lost to the Browns, Vikes and Bengals this season, it doesn't mean a thing. I stick by what I said, sometimes a good old ass kicking is needed to wake you up and humble you. Lets see how they respond.

Odds are that we will be the #2 seed at 14-3.  San Fran will be the #1 seed also at 14-3.  Dallas will be the 5 seed at 13-4 because I don't think they're going to win all the rest of their games.  So we will get whichever turd crawls out of the NFC South and beat them.  After that, who knows.

As for the off season, we have a ton of needs, depending on who retires and who doesn't.  Definitely have needs at CB, safety, and LB.  I highly doubt the ownership is going to do anything at LB because, for some unexplainable reason, they don't value the position even though it's the sole reason why we always get eaten alive by better TE's across the league.  Anyone that wants to beat us just needs to run crossing routes or short underneath routes.  There's guys running free there almost every play.  Our pass rush usually covers a lot of the weakness in the secondary, but if they're not getting home we get torched.  I would really love to see 3-4 picks spent on CB and LB in the draft this off season but I won't be counting on it.

A village idiot could have looked at this schedule and known that we would drop some games in this stretch.  This loss is not surprising, nor was it unexpected.  What has fans teetering on the ledge is the fact that we got blown out at home.

I actually think this might wind up being a good thing.  The pressure is now off SF to beat us.  We also clearly see our weaknesses and how they will exploit them.  I'm not saying that we beat them in the playoffs, but I think that game looks very different than this one.

This team needed to wake up and see what they really were.  A week of pundits picking us apart and SF fans posting celebratory Tik Tok's will be good motivation.

Slightly disagree. The issue is not that they were blown out. That happens. The issue is we’ve played 12 games and have played a solid full 4 quarters in exactly zero of them. Not once has this team played a solid 4 quarters. Every game has had moments of feeling like they were on the brink of losing control and the game going the other way. There is no sign of that improving and it could very well cost us several more games going forward.

Its going to be a shame for the eagles to go all the way to the NFC Championship game knowing that they will just end up losing to San Francisco. Id probably just start tanking now if I was them.

Don't disagree one bit.  But the lack of consistency existed and was discussed at nauseum well before this game was played.  As long as we were winning, fans weren't freaking out.  Now that we have been exposed in a very embarrassing loss, the hope is that we see some real changes in both personnel and coaching.

Will it be enough?  I think we will find out next week.

My biggest concern is it’s more of the same and I had a feeling we’d get smoked on the road in Dallas. We haven’t won there since 2017, and we haven’t swept them as a playoff contender since 2006.

I really miss the Dave Campo years.

I'm a Birds fan win lose or draw. It's all part of the process. This week we got our A**** handed to us. It's been coming all season and we all knew it.

Either they bounce back, or they don't.

SF had a 3 game losing streak at one point. They are not unbeatable. We have played sloppy football all season and yesterday it finally caught up to us.

Let's see if they come out of this better than they went into it.

Well, yesterday we learned that the Eagles are the 2nd best team in the NFC right now, but they still hold the best record. Win out and they get the bye and home field advantage. right now, we're on to Dallas.

For sure.  We lose to Dallas next week all bets are off.  We lose convincingly and we will be in full doomsday prep.

It was a bad loss, but we were never getting through ´the gauntlet´ without at least one. Even if we lose to that horrible team at the weekend, we have Seattle, NYG x2 and Arizona to follow. At worst, to me at least, that points to a minimum of 13 wins.

Do we still do that thing where we vote on the worst post of the year and then banish its author from the EMB?

You´re not alone, I too miss the good old days of getting our asses kicked every week and going 4-12. It´s really awful watching a team that has the best record in the NFL that is likely to get 14 regular season wins and possible HFA, an electrifying QB, a future HoF center, the best RT in the league and arguably the best WR pairing, too.

I´m sick of it all, bring back Chip Kelly, Kevin Kolb, Winston Justice and Hank Baskett! Who´s with me?

lol, right!?!

I wish some of these people would have been around for seasons like 1998. I watched every game of that dumpster fire so I could enjoy seasons like this and teams like our current roster.

I think its also time to accept that things arent going to get easier from here on out. Last year was probably the best chance to win a SB with Hurts and it didnt happen.

Its true that every teams best SB window is when their franchise QB is still on a rookie contract. This team may look very different next year.

Maybe, but a lot is going to happen between now and the SB.  Case in point was Purdy getting hurt last year.  Let's see what happens.

Dont get me wrong though i think if Hurts is really an elite QB, our SB window will be open for quite a while. But he has shown some questionable traits this year that elite QBs shouldnt be doing....

It’s amazing how far they’ve fallen

I think we still would've kicked their butt last year because we were much better defensively that season. This season we are much worse, so SF smacking this year's defense around means nothing imo. They can have the redemption, but they didn't beat the same team that curb stomped them.

I still think we're good enough to beat them this season, but we won't be doing it if our defense plays like it did Sunday. Heck, we won't even make it to the nfccg if our defense can't get its act together.

The Eagles lost and they are still a full game up on the 49ers, Lions, and Cowboys. The loss hurts but they could afford it.  Now how do they respond? Sweep the Cowboys puts them in good position to win the NFC East, and are still in the lead to earn the bye.

10-2 with 5 regular season games left. Just like old bad times ...

People sure have gotten soft.

I'm not worried. ROS schedule is cake. They have the best shot in the NFC to capture the #1 seed and they are fairly healthy. They will continue to improve and had something going in that 1st quarter on defense.

We also need a #3 slot receiver and an every-down back,  I think we might also need to begin thinking about Lane Johnson's replacement at some point.

If we beat Dallas this week, I'll be less worried

It's a deep wr class this year

Losses happen.  Other teams win games too you know.  The year they won the SB, they had a big loss to Seattle.

The Chiefs this year lost big to the Broncos, a close one with the Lions, we beat them and they just lost to the Packers last night 27-19.  Last year the Chiefs lost to the Colts one of the worst teams in the league, then went on to win the SB.

This year the 40whiners had 3 losses in a row:

  • a low scoring close game with the Browns with P.J. Walker at QB. Purdy was terrible: 12/27, 125 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 fumble, 3 sacks, rating of 53.3.  McCaffery had 11 carries for 43 yards. Deebo had 1 target and no catches, only 2 carries for 11 yards.  They were awful, and it was against the Browns.
  • a low scoring close game with the Vikings where Purdy threw 2 INTs, McCaffery had 15 carries for only 45 yards and a fumble.
  • 31-17 loss to the Bengals.

If the Eagles had played 2 games the way the 49ers lost badly to the Browns and Vikings a lot of Eagles fans would think they suck, the season is over, they're overrated, etc.  The 49ers lost those awful games, then bounced back and played great yesterday and everyone crowns them.  1 loss doesn't mean the Eagles are done.  In fact they beat all the tough teams on their schedule so far except 49ers.  Dolphins, Cowboys, Chiefs, Bills... they played 3 games in 14 day span while the 49ers were given 10 days rest before playing the Eagles.  It was bound to happen.

Let's see how they recover against Dallas this week.

Receiver: they have two 1,000 yard receivers and Goedert.  You can't expect top talent at every position.  They need more production out of slot receiver but they have a lot of weapons on offense.  Siri and BJ need to design and call better plays to utilize them.

RB: Swift gets 60% of RB snaps.  Gainwell gets 37%.  I don't think the coaches will do much more than that.  When looking at the other teams with a top 10 RB, most are similar snap counts.  My issue is in situations where they should go with Swift, and I would like to see him get more carries.

RT replacement: absolutely, they need to draft and groom him, also be able to step in when Lane is inevitably hurt and misses some games.
