I mean wtf? Quinn last year Byard this year. We trade for vets and they play like ass.

He wasn't playing that well even before they traded for him.

Anyone that expected him to save the secondary clearly wasn’t watching him. He hasn’t been the same and there’s a reason Tennessee was willing to let him go so cheap.

Didn’t see where him or Bradberry really were in many or any positions to make any plays…the "weakest links”/ favorable matchups were targeted and exploited.

He's so slow and he plays more like a LB, instead of a safety. A Howie miss just like Robert Quinn last season.

I hardly thought he was the problem yesterday.  He's not going to wow you speed, but he wasn't brought in to be that guy.  Given the injuries at LB and S, I'm not sure we beat KC or Buffalo without him.

He's better than Edmunds.  Not every trade or free agent signing is some big splash move.

Byard in the last couple weeks made great plays, he had an INT, passes defensed, he shadowed Travis Kelce the whole Chiefs game and defended him well.  He hasn't been "ass."  He did need a couple weeks to get accustomed to the team.

The whole defense played like ass yesterday.  Slay and Bradberry ARE expected to be great and they've been average at best this year.  Byard was a band aid because Edmunds sucked and Blankenship was injured.

^And this

He isn’t what he was in Tennesse a couple of years ago, but better than the sheet on the roster that wasn’t injured. Slay is done (and has been in decline) and Blackberry has been pretty bad all year.  Back end has been a dumpster fire pretty much all season.

Nice. Couldn't have said it better.

I think Byard is a decent add. Every once in a while he gets caught out of position and gets burned. But he joined the team midseason. Can't expect him to be perfect in a new system right from the start. Like others said, the Eagles were really struggling at Safety: Evans went on IR. Edmunds was worse.

Byard is exactly who he is supposed to be.

The play at the 2nd level was once again, an embarrassment. I hope Leonard helps but he's one guy and they need three new ones. From a pure talent perspective, Cunningham should be first off the bench, not a starter.

I'm just hoping Leonard can at least be in the ball park based on instincts alone. Ellis is freaking clueless as all get out. That man had no idea what to do out there. Morrow ... I just have no words.

Cunningham is a good run defender. He's decent in pass coverage, but nothing special (not many LBs excel in pass coverage). Once he exited the Buffalo game with the hamstring injury, the Eagles started getting gashed up the middle. I think he and Leonard could compliment each other once he's cleared to play.
