OK, it may sound pretentious, but I suffer from hating beer.  I listen to all the IPA and craft nerds talk about their stuff, so I feel like this deserves a space.  Anyone into wine?  Pure wine snob?  Just getting into it?

I do. Give me a choice between beer, wine or liquor I will choose wine almost every time. Exception to the rule depends on environment like being at a game or a tailgate.

I use to have a huge wine rack that could hold around 200 bottles and would find wines that I would like and buy cases to fill it.

Now I'm a middle aged man with a toddler, so I just buy a $6 1.5L Kirkland Brand Cab

I learned the past few years there are tons of wines that cost 12 to 20 bucks that are amazing. It's all individual and cost means ish.

The 90 year old house we bought 20 years ago came with an old room in the cellar for storing food.  The previous owner racked part of it.  So, we usually have approx. 70-100 bottles down there at any given point.  Mostly from Italy with a good bit from Spain.  Bits of stuff from US, France, and Portugal.  All red, we might have two or three bottles of white in the cellar at any point in time.  We pretty much just buy white to drink in the summer when we want some.

All i know about wine is semi-sweet red wines from Georgia, the country not the state you uncultured swine, is pretty good.

I'll drink a sweet red in the warm months. One of our local wineries makes one called "Tailgater" that's really drinkable when it's warm and you are outside.

I dont drink it. My wife and mother in law love Georgian wines. Wish I could remember the name of one I got for them cause it was good. Been trying others from there that were good but still not my thing. I figure when I was in Italy that I didn’t like wine, so wine just isn’t for me.

Kirkland does a good job sourcing their wine. I think I read that they try to keep it a secret which vineyards they use, or they used to try.

That big ass cab is actually pretty good for the price . Doesn't taste like a 50 quid wine but it also doesn't taste like a 6 quid wine

Champagne and red is all i have, but we rarely drink wine unless people are over

I swear we’re related - I only drink dry reds - Pinot Noir is my favorite.

You're not related. You're just ghey for one another

I love wine. I got into it particularly through wine pairings. When I make a good meal, picking a nice wine or two to complement the fare always takes the experience to the next level for me. Today, I went to the top shelf to match an exquisite syrah (2017 Copain Les Voisins) with pulled pork from my smoker.

Strong thread bump, 97, LOL. :flex:

I haven't had a Red in months, for some odd reason. Just Whites.

I gotta stop, because I drink toooooo much wine. The sugar is starting to slowly kill me, I reckon. I probably knock off about 4 bottles a week. I think I have a problem........??

We made a space in the apt for a dual temp wine fridge. Don't store anything but we drink easily 5 bottles/week. Wines seeing a lot of action in the rotation include Gertrude Toscana, Izadi Reserva, La Crema Pinot Noir, Padrillos Malbec.

I split a case of Petite Syrah with a friend of mine couple weeks ago.  It is a Ridge 2019.  Quite like it.

Not much wine drinking going on right now as we have a relative heat wave going on so mostly ice cold beers and a g/t now and again.
