Report: Eagles hire new inside linebackers coach

The Eagles have added another coach to Vic Fangio’s growing staff.

The Eagles interviewed former Packers DC Joe Barry and former Jaguars DC Mike Caldwell for their LB coach vacancy, but both took jobs elsewhere.

King previously coached with the Cowboys, Texans, and Chargers and worked with Nick Sirianni from 2014 to 2016.

The addition means that last season’s linebackers coach, D.J. Eliot, won’t be returning.

Philadelphia’s linebackers struggled mightily down the stretch last season, most notably at tackling — Fangio is trusting King to rectify the issue.

King oversaw the growth of Titans LB Azeez Al-Shaair last season, who recorded a career-high 163 total tackles (nine for loss), four passes defended, and two sacks.

Vic Fangio’s Current Staff

  • Defensive Line Coach — Clint Hurtt
  • Safeties Coach — Joe Kasper
  • Secondary Coach — Christian Parker
  • Off-Ball LB Coach — Bobby King
