NFL Position On Player Opt-Out

As expected it has a number of whats and wherefores . . . the most intriguing of which may be:

"The NFL’s offer states that “[n]o club may renegotiate a contract with any player who has given notice of his intention to opt out.” As a practical matter, this gives a player until August 1 to use the threat of a potential opt out as leverage to get a new deal."

5 players on the Pats have opted out.

Are they going to be the front runners for Trevor?

I think they'll strongly decide to cancel if enough starters decide to opt out

Yeah, it further dilutes the quality of the game and is especially attractive to guys who already have their money.

The guys who  _really_  want to play are the up & comers and the rooks.

Todd Gurley is likely going to opt out. He said if the league doesn't have a clear and concrete plan, he's out. I don't see a plan, so he is one of the BIGGER names who will skip this year.
