Guessing with entering the final year of his current deal and a cap hit of $22M in 2024 they are either willing to move on or are allowing him to test the market to get a more realistic look at what his value is before extending him.

Hopefully it’s the latter of testing the market, sometimes these players need a dose of reality.

In case watching the two teams today wasn’t painful enough

No law saying you gotta watch. YouTube still exists my friend

Can't be serious.  We really need him.

kinda is a statement by the team saying that even they don't expect to compete for a SB next year. he had a good year last season but he wasn't the force he was the super bowl year. im good with it. too many holes on that defense to put that much money into one guy anyway

Didn't the Eagles also let Slay and Cox "seek a trade"? They both came back to the Birds.

I hope this isn't Reddick thinking:

"I'm 29 years old and I want a ring. I'm not likely to get one with the Eagles in the next 3 or so years so it's time to see if I can get on with a team that is an actual contender."

This hurts my soul. Nolan Smith isnt the answer.

Reddick is probably our best player on defence.

I’ll be unhappy if he leaves tbh but I can understand why he’d want to

You know this how? He wasn’t even given a shot last year.

His agent? They want money.

There's a lot to like about Nolan Smith, but he and Reddick need to play the same position. Smith needs a couple more seasons to develop his pass rush but in time he can be as disruptive as Reddick.

I've been very happy with Reddick since he arrived and definitely would rather he continue to play here at his current level. But even with Reddick, our defense wasn't getting off the field last season. So if we can work out a trade that creates some cap space and maybe helps us get another player that can help right away, that could be a positive.

Originally, I thought Reddick wanted to be here, to be "home." He signed a team friendly deal and outperformed it so far. Maybe he regrets that now and wants a little more. If that's the case, paying him more won't "help" the team at a time where the team desperately needs more help.

Hate to see this given his potential last season here we had a bunch of morons dropping him back into coverage..🙄

yeah i agree and im guessing this is going to be a player for player deal and if anything more likely they are going to sign a vet d or trade for a younger one that's on a rookie deal like aj brown.

I mean if he goes to Denver with a first and we get surtain I’d be ok 😂

It’s probably more that he outplayed his contract by quite a bit in 2022 and didn't create any problems this past year … didn’t hold out just came to work every day and had another very good year.  Now entering the final year of his deal (one in which his cap number is $22M) they are in a position where they either need to extend him or move him.

I refuse to watch.  F both of these teams now and forever.

This is good news…

Good luck to him if he can get more $ elsewhere. I have nooooo problem with players getting paid.

He was awesome during the Eagles SB season. But, the Eagles won nothing with him on their roster.

And we all know how bad the D was this past season. With him on the field. Awful on 3rd down. THAT was when he should get his. AND He's their best player on D. Just a friggin weird season it was.

Yea, it is good news. The guy vanished last year and is only getting older.

Wouldn’t say he vanished, man had more sacks than anyone else

Highly unlikely we can trade him with 16 mil left for next year. If we can't agree on how much of a salary reduction he will be cut.  Teams know that.  This is for his agent and the player to learn his value.  Doubtful a team will want him on a multi year deal in that range.  If so maybe we could get a 4 or 5 for him.  So he will end up agreeing to a large reduction in salary for next season or he will be released

He was a monster force once he got the club off his hand from the injury before the season.

I think this is the team looking at the cap hit and thinking they need to do something about it to make things work money-wise. Anywhere he goes he will need to get a big new contract. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Eagles extend him. He isn't that old yet and has been highly productive the last two seasons without any signs of slowing down. Reddick is also a great fit for Fangio's scheme.
