February 14, 20241 yr What the hell is going on with communication between players and front office? I understand where this is coming from, but it sounds like Hassan was completely caught off guard by the news. It's easy to make up stories in your head when clear dialog isn't established. I'm usually a staunch defender of Howie, but the guy is beginning to grate on my nerves.

Like with tj edwards , wasnt he open to coming back and didn’t hear anything so pursued other options ? very poor

He’s also looking for a new contract so wherever he’s traded that is a factor also, I think the Eagles are trying to let him see there isn’t much out there for him. I have my doubts he gets traded.

The starters were forced to play way too much and when the second team went in there wasn’t much push at all. People were all up in arms about cutting Barnett, but he did little to nothing here.

For Barnett I think people were questioning the move given what it did to the rotation to keep guys fresh. They never brought in a replacement and it turns out that Smith had a bum shoulder that required surgery.

He was the backup who lost time to a guy with a bum shoulder. It wasn’t just Barnett though. The second team as a whole simply weren’t good enough and guys couldn’t stop getting hurt. Keeping Barnett wouldn’t have fixed anything and on top of that he wanted out about as much as they wanted him out. To think for a moment keeping Barnett would have changed anything is kind of ridiculous.
March 19, 20241 yr He’s gone. Stupid. Can’t remember them ever parting with a top 5 or so player at his position . Closed the Rams game. Knocked Purdy out. A productive, game changer and closer.

March 19, 20241 yr My favorite Eagle other than Kelce. It'll be a huge bummer if he goes. We'd better get good value back otherwise it makes no sense.

I don't see how they could move a contractually mandated bonus whether he's traded or not, he's either entitled to it in his deal or he isn't. The only way you could move it is if the contract were rewritten, but that isn't being reported. Any team that trades for him isn't going to take a million dollar cap hit to pay him a bonus that the Eagles were due to pay 4 days ago, that's not how contracts or business works.

They obviously see something or are predicting his decline. Writing is on the wall paying Huff, restructuring Sweat, paying BG and having high hopes for Nolan. At best they are going to get a 3. Just pay him an extra 4-5 mill this year and let him walk next year. Trading your best player on a super underwhelming D isn’t a smart move especially when you consider yourself a Contender. Find a way to make it work

If it would give Sweat and Reddick a few more snaps to breath then they may have been a little more productive down the stretch. Those guys were toast come the end of the season. Played too many snaps. Just having someone in that wasn't a total liability to keep these guys a little fresher would have been nice.

March 20, 20241 yr Author Report: Eagles aren't willing to pay Haason Reddick what he wants for new contract The latest information on the Haason Reddick contract situation and his future with the Eagles. BY SHAMUS CLANCY PhillyVoice Staff GARY A. VASQUEZ/USA TODAY Haason Reddick and the Eagles are reportedly far apart on new contract details. The Eagles bolstered their pass rush during free agency, adding former Jets defender Bryce Huff, who's coming off a 10-sack season. The Birds also reworked Pro Bowler Josh Sweat's contract, keeping him in Philadelphia this season amidst talk that he might be moved elsewhere. The future of another star Eagles edge rusher, however, remains in doubt. Earlier this offseason, a report surfaced that the Eagles had given Reddick, who's looking for a new, bigger contract, permission to seek a trade. Reddick currently has a base salary of $14.3 million this year with a cap hit north of $21.8 million. He's in the final year of a three-year deal he signed back in 2022 (with multiple void years still remaining on the back end). What's next for the Eagles and Reddick? On Monday night, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the Eagles are moving Reddick's $1 million roster bonus from March 15 to April 1. Fowler wrote that the move "in theory buys Philly time for a potential trade before having to pay the money." On Tuesday morning, Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Jeff McLane joined 97.5 The Fanatic to discuss Reddick and the Eagles, assessing that the two parties are still far apart on a new deal: Reddick certainly out-performed his contract in 2022 during a superstar campaign and played well enough on a disastrous Eagles defense last season. With Reddick entering his age-30 season, however, the Eagles may be reluctant to tie up money with a player who's getting older and may not be able to replicate the highs of 2022. https://www.phillyvoice.com/eagles-news-trade-rumors-haason-reddick-contract-cap-hit/
March 20, 20241 yr Tricky. We got such a good deal on Reddick but could be in trouble if we overpay and he declines rapidly. I’m not trading him for less than a decent second though.
March 20, 20241 yr How long did we keep Peters on the damn roster? Until he was like 95 years old? And now they're complaining that Reddick is approaching 30?
