If the league expects us to move him on because of the moves we’ve made then I really don’t see him having much trade value?

If teams know you are going to move on from a player then you obviously lose leverage but we don't need to move on from him ... he is under contract for 2024 and they could very well choose to let him play out that final year if they don't get what they feel is satisfactory compensation (and am guessing also under the assumption that Reddick would be willing to be the good soldier and play out that final year without being a distraction - he should know he'd be in line for a decent payday next year).

I'm not sure of that for this year considering it was the same after the 2022 season. He likely could think he did that already and decide to hold out

Yep … it definitely is not a same assumption.

I'll never understand why holding out is even an option. Dude signed a brand new contract 2 years ago and was all smiles.

Either sign a 1-year deal every year or get over the fact that the bar gets raised annually. They want that long term financial security but just don't comprehend there's a tradeoff.

Liked Reddick, but hated his attitude. Probably one of several guys in locker room last year who checked out. I think Eagles have moved on, but would keep him if he goes with the program...unless they get a 2nd rounder. He's not gonna call the shots. That's Howie do!

On his fair contract that he's getting. Cried about it after year 1...

His contract was small compared to the market after year 1 considering he was at the top in play

And last year he was probably overpaid. He's 30 year old this year getting $15M as a 1 tricked pony. What's to argue here? Put your head down and earn your keep this year and get paid. Simple.

That may be how you want it to be but players will get contracts restructured and extended because they overplayed their current one and the market is above what their current one is

When he overplays his contract call me.

Let me educate you a lil. While he was 14th in pay for edge rushers last year, these are his stats for 2023.

Can't be stuck in 2022, when thinking about Reddick. Players fall off a cliff fast and need to project wisely ahead. Rather put that money into a young up and comer next offseason. Building long term here.

He was also injured last year but you're clearly stuck on your position and I don't care enough to try and change it

Agree to disagree

Injuries are not a positive for him to be in a position to ask for a huge raise going into his 30's. He really has 0 leverage, but maybe there's one desperate team who will pay him top dollar. I like him for no more than $15M and would extend for 1 year at that price perhaps. But that's it. I like him, but not that much. If he was from Los Angeles and not Philly maybe a lot peeps would disengage their emotions here in this player.

Good time to let the cap guy go.

I'd much rather sign Justin Simmons and get a 3rd and a 5th from Arizona. I'm also not trading a 4th (that was once a 3rd) down to a 5th to move Reddick for Baker.

3rd and a 5th next year might be alright but many said this year isn't deep. I don't know...Buda could really help the secondary this year. We'll see what happens.

Interesting that the pick will travel back in time to the 2023 draft if he doesn't play 67% of the snaps this year.

That's solid compensation, though. More than I thought we'd get for a player that will be 30 just after the season starts.

All the local guys got shipped out. Bummer. I would of thought you'd want as many proven pass rushers as possible?? What do I know.

Sad.  He was a good player for us.

Meh. Wonder what they’re paying him
