Barkley Mock Draft

In this mock, I’m playing into the smoke around signing Saquan Barkley, trading Josh Sweat to his former DC that put him in position to rip, and then getting a deal done to acquire Pat Surtain II for Vic.

RETIRE

Jason Kelce, C

Fletcher Cox, DT

RESTRUCTURE / EXTEND

Devonta Smith, WR

Landon Dickerson, OG

Milton Williams, DT

Albert Okwuegbunam, TE

RE-SIGN

Haason Reddick, LB

Brandon Graham, DE

Sua Opeta, OG

Jack Driscoll, T

Boston Scott, RB

Rick Lovato, LS

Braden Mann, P

LET WALK / CUT

Kevin Byard, S

Avonte Maddox, CB

DeAndre Swift, RB

Marcus Mariota, QB

Justin Evans, S

Shaquille Leonard, ILB

FREE AGENCY

Bryce Huff, DE, NY Jets

Saquan Barkley, RB, NY Giants

CGJ, FS, Detroit Lions

Jordyn Brooks, ILB, Seattle Seahawks

Tyler Boyd, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

Zack Baun, LB, NO Saints

TRADE

(1)

Philadelphia Eagles trade:

2024 1st Rd Pick (#22)

2024 3rd Rd Pick (#97)

Darius Slay, CB

Denver Broncos trade:

Pat Surtain II, CB

Context for the trade with Denver:

Broncos need early picks given their cap situation and don’t have a 2nd round pick. Would do Bradberry, but think his value is trash. Getting Slay gives them a short-term solution with a favorable contract while offloading Pat Surtain for a 1st and a 3rd. We get our young, lockdown CB of the future that does all the things Vic needs our CB1 to do.

(2)

Philadelphia Eagles trade:

Josh Sweat, DE

2025 3rd Rd Pick

Arizona Cardinals trade:

2024 2nd Rd Pick (#35)

2024 4th Rd Pick (#103)

Context for the trade with Arizona:

Cardinals have a lot of draft capital and have committed to building around Kyler. Gannon gets a young, stud DE that he knows can play well under his scheme. We get value back for Sweat to find replacement talent on rookie contracts.

DRAFT

2.35 - Tyler Guyton, RT, Oklahoma

2.50 - Bralen Trice, DE, Washington

2.53 - Kamren Kichens, FS, Miami

4.103 - Payton Wilson, ILB, NC State

5.159 - DeWayne Carter, DT, Duke

5.170 - Joey Milton III, QB, Tennessee

6.188 - Jaheim Bell, TE, FSU

What I like -

  • The overall approach
  • Surtain, Trice, Kinchens, Wilson all fill positions of need
  • Milton - I think he's the sleeper of the year

What I don't like -

  • No starting corner opposite Surtain
  • No slot corner to compete with Rogers
  • Guyton - I'd take Max Melton instead
  • Carter in the 5th - we don't really need a DT, I'd take a TE hopefully Wiley
  • Bell in the 6th - the OT from Yale, Amegadjie because I don't think we'll resign both Opeta and Driscoll
  • No day 2 picks next year

Good read  - thanks

We have Kelee, Eli, and Isiah that need to be given a shot to develop.

Re: slot CB, I don’t think we put a rookie in there. I actually expect Maddox to come back on a cheap 1-year deal like we did with Cox two seasons ago.

Losing Cox leaves us with a need for a 4th DT to pair with JC, JD, and MW. Vic’s scheme rotates the DL quite a bit.

We're just not on the same page but that's why they make vanilla and chocolate ice cream.

No way I risk putting one of the kids opposite Slay while the Super bowl window is still open - let them develop. I think rogers is going into the slot but I;d be happy with your Maddox scenario.

i don't htink they need a DT - they have 5 Davis, Carter, Williams, Tuipolotu, and Ojomo
