Landon Dickerson agrees to four-year extension with Eagles

Landon Dickerson was not a pending free agent, but the Eagles have still taken care of an important piece of business with their left guard.

Philadelphia announced on Monday morning that the team has agreed to a four-year extension with Dickerson.

A second-round pick in the 2021 draft, Dickerson was entering the final year of his rookie contract. He has started 46 games in the last three seasons. He played 93 percent of Philadelphia’s offensive snaps in 2022 and 91 percent of snaps in 2023.

Dickerson has been a Pro Bowler in each of the last two seasons.

This is a very Howie move. And it's a smart one.

It all begins up front.

Edit: $21 million a year for a guard.
Anyone who wonders if the salary cap is anything more than a loose set of self-imposed guidelines for NFL owners needs to look no farther than this deal.

This was obvious. Smith is next

That was Swift. Devonta Smith will be the next extension

3 years, $24 million for a guy the Eagles paid $1.8 million. And our old buddy Miles Sanders has a $7.7 million dollar cap charge with more than $6 million guaranteed.
These RB deals make no sense.

Well, when you look at the records of the organizations making these deals, it all makes sense.

Thats a lot of money for a guard on a 2 nd contract. Highest paid in history. Hard to believe we had to offer him that much

No brainer/good move.

I don't understand.  Are you saying that it would be justified for a guard on his 3rd contract?

Are you saying that the organization should have waited until next season?  That "highest in history" will be exceeded next season.

Is he not worth the investment?  Do you think Eagles should have found a free agent to replace him?

Home run draft pick. Now sign Smitty as well.

He’s a stud though and with Kelce gone and Lane getting towards the end of his career we need to lock down the really good young OL on this team.

Love it!

Quality player. Well done, Howie.

Agreed.  He is really good and fortunately his health has held up.  Good to lock him up but I am surprised how high the number had to be to get him to sign.

Biggest contract in history for a guard.
