October 9, 20241 yr Sometimes when a player is brought in like this and seems to have been a terrible signing, people may be overlooking the bigger picture. He was a 1-year signing. As a rookie Dean was brought in to strengthen our LB group. That season in camp, he pushed TJ Edwards for the starting role. Edwards, ended up securing the role and had his best season to date. Last year Dean was handed the job after Edwards left. The foot injury derailed the season, but Dean wasn't as far along as the departed Edwards either as he needed more experience. This year, White was brought in and Dean had to work hard to earn the starting role. So maybe it didn't work out for White, but Baun, Dean, Trotter and BVS all had to work harder and I'm sure were able to learn some things from White while he was here. In the end, if our LBs are better than last year, the signing wasn't terrible.
October 9, 20241 yr Yeah, tough to call it a bad signing just because cutting him has no future ramifications. It was a one-year, relatively low-money deal. It didn't work out. Now the Huff signing, that's looking like a potentially awful one.

All of which we missed the most last year. Howie is covering all basis before draft day. No complaints here. That post didn't age well...
