Posted March 16, 20241 yr 1-yr deal, up to $2.5M. Special teams and part-time starter for the Niners, he replaced Greenlaw in the Super Bowl and got abused by Mahomes. Probably here for ST and backing up Dean.

March 17, 20241 yr This is a decent depth signing. Good Special teamer and was good at times for the 49ers when he had to start last year.
March 17, 20241 yr So long as he's the 4th or 5th LB and ST'er only it's fine. They still need a 3rd LB so either Cunningham or a 2nd round pick. With Dean's injury history and White coming off of a horrible season I would look to bring back Cunningham AND draft a LB in round 2, 3 (if they trade up or down), or 4.

Nakobe Dean's complete injury history

Would make sense - so we wouldn’t be one injury away from disaster.
March 17, 20241 yr ST’er who can provide a bit of depth at LB. I quite like the move because he’s got experience the league. It’s a good smart depth move.
March 19, 20241 yr I feel like all we do is sign one year mercenaries who mostly can't really play. Great way to build a roster, eh?

I do definitely think that’s an issue. I like this addition just like I appreciate the White move and even the Baun move. But they are all one year rentals. At some point you’ve got to have a bit of stability.

Great way to build a roster, eh? we got to draft better and hit on some LBs in the draft...And then we have to be patient enough at least a year while they are learning. I am not a big fan of multiple Name signings. Players who were hyped at one time or another but their on the field performance stinks. Might as well give our new rookie a chance to show what they got and learn on the job.

Remember that 1 year when we signed Jeffery, Blount and Robinson all to 1 year deals and Long and Foles to 2-year deals, then traded a 4th for Ajayi?

Re-read my post. These recent 1 year signings are for players who are not good.

I like the one year prove it deals, it gives the player more incentive to play well or risk not get paid the following offseason. You need these type of players to fill out a roster. The good thing is every year these type of players are available and sometimes you’ll hit and you can extend them, sometimes you miss and you move on.

I wonder...I guess it is a prove it deal, and he will get a chance to play with the starters.

I don't mind letting people know if I have a different opinion. I share my opinions with everybody here. If I'm arguing a case, a try to include substance (video, stats, ratings/rankings, etc..) that backs up my belief.
January 30Jan 30 Hope Burks gets re-signed in the offseason. He and Baun are playing well together. And Dean will probably miss at least half of next season with his injury.

January 30Jan 30 I’m assuming Burks is a FA this year? I think we should look to get a deal done because who knows when (or if) Dean will be back.
