According to John Clark competition at slot CB.

Undrafted free agent that got signed by Atlanta.  Also spent a year with the Rams before 2 years with the Raiders.  Only 25 years old.  Love this new youth movement.

Raiders fans don't like this move from what I have gathered. Slot cornerback that played well in limited opportunities. Had several other offers. Has graded 86 and 73 for last couple years with PFF. If anything, this team will have better depth this year with having back-ups not be so raw and having quality NFL starts under their belt. On paper, feels like this team should have elite special teams and offense. Fangio just needs to make the defense average and this easily is a 12 win team.

Never heard of him

I feel good bout this one

Gives us depth at slot CB which we needed. I guess there’s a chance he even wins the starting job.

Wow I like it even more now! Hopefully he allows Rodgers to play outside so we don’t need to play Bradberry much?

Not to be a downer, but if he really was all those things, I don't think he would be signing a one-year deal this late into free agency. I mean, I hope he works out and I like addressing the secondary, but a 25-year-old who is "great in coverage," a great blitzer, and an amazing tackler is probably getting a much better deal.

Still wondering what we are going to do with Bradberry.  Howie claims he is in their plans for the upcoming season but what is he supposed to say?  His cap hit is only $4.3M for 2024 so maybe they are indeed intending to keep him to compete for other outside starting spot and if he loses the competition he either serves as depth or they move him later (have to think some team would roll the dice on him at such a low cap it).  Right now if we cut him we take on $15M in dead money to the 2024 cap.  But if we trade him that lowers to $6.3M and get him off the books completely.  Seems to be the way to go.

I was really down on Bradberry last year too…But with the change of coordinators and schemes, I would not be surprised if Bradbury surprises a lot of fans. He is good in zone coverage , and that is precisely how he will be utilized. I expect Bradbury to redeem himself next year. ;))

It wouldn't surprise me if, when Howie said Bradberry was in their plans, that he actually meant it.  As included in the previous response, maybe he is back to compete for that spot (hoping it is a legit competition and he isn't just handed the position ... he needs to earn it ... if someone outplays him that someone needs to be the starter opposite Slay).  I was all on board with re-signing him last offseason and was as surprised as anyone how his play completely fell off a cliff.  Maybe there was some lingering injury issue.  Maybe he couldn't "play fast" due to all the confusion they were supposedly dealing with due to the scheme and eventual change in coordinators.  Or maybe Father Time just caught up to him quickly.  If it is the latter then they need to move on.  The youth movement appears to be in full swing ... both starting CBs need to be replaced within the next year or 2.

Or he got his contract and didn't give a F. He has been this way the last how many years. Play great 1 year get a contract then play like crap the next

If he starts then 1) we are going to be in trouble and 2) damn the off season really didn’t go to plan.

Totally agreed. This is exactly why the Eagles had to sign Patrick Robinson so early in free agency to a big money deal for the SB year.

Very good point! That definitely wasn't an anomaly and pro bowl caliber corners are very often available for cheap, one-year deals late in free agency!

He's so good that he's on his 4th team and only 25 years old??!!! Mmmphh.

Raheem Mostert was on his 7th team at age 24.

So many free agent additions. So many new coaches. So many guys who have left the team. Is this much transition sustainable for a team that had such a collapse last season?

I've been thinking about the upcoming season quite a bit and because of all the changes you just mentioned I kinda feel like this will be more of a transition season, where the coaches will be working more to install their new schemes and get everyone comfortable in it (and also with so many new faces getting those players to get comfortable playing next to each other and developing chemistry together).  Even if it is a bumpy start just have to hope that as the season progresses it starts to look more and more like it is coming together (kinda the opposite of last season although even during the 10-1 stretch there were quite a few of us expressing concern over the sloppy play, etc.).

I actually feel kind of bad for Sirianni. This kind of feels like a no win situation for him. I mean if they win they accolades will go to his new coordinators. He might get some praise for galvanizing this group of mercenaries, but the the offensive and defensive praise will fall on the coordinators. If this fails then all of the blame will rest on his shoulders and possibly Jalen’s as well. A new coach and likely new coordinators will once again be put in place. There will be a reset and many will forget about all of these moves in the off-season and just start blaming Sirianni for the fall. With that being the case, Sirianni is the one who agreed to basically give up power and to basically be a figurehead. I hope it works out.

Yeah I know what you mean and I do have some sympathy for him… But if things go well then he’ll remain in position as HC and isn’t that what it’s all about for him? I think it’s why he accepted all of the changes so that he could remain HC.

Fair question, but I’d say we need a lot of transition in order to be a very different team than the one that collapsed last season.

I doubt he had much choice. Kind of like Doug but Sirianni made a different choice.  Another way to look at it is how many head coaches are de facto Offensive Coordinators (Andy Reid) or Defensive Coordinators (Belichick) and succeed at it. Some do, I suspect more don't. It's just that last year's coordinators were SO BAD and on D the change was from bad to worse.
