March 26, 20241 yr That’s crazy. It’s been a decade or two, but I’ve crossed that bridge quite a few times.

Yeah, we probably shouldn't indulge in speculation but the fact is once a ship that size is moving even at a crawl the momentum it has is huge, if the control system fails due to power outage, there isn't a thing on Earth that will stop it quickly.
March 26, 20241 yr Thinking that ship would have needed at least a mile to stop before colliding and they just didn't have the space.
March 26, 20241 yr Ahhh yes, that evil DEI causing disasters...remember when blue check marks actually meant something?
March 26, 20241 yr It looks like the container ship had lost control and hit a center beam causing the bridge to fail. Scraping local reports: The boat's crew is accounted for, no injuries. The boat had radioed it had lost control, hopefully they were able to stop traffic in time. Watching the time lapse videos it looks there is no traffic just as the bridge is hit. There was a construction crew working atop the bridge. All were in vehicles at the time of collapse: 2 people were recovered, 1 seriously injured. Rescuers are looking for 20. The bridge span is about a mile long.
March 26, 20241 yr Couldn't believe when I heard that this morning. Thats a huge bridge. Honestly it's a small miracle this happened at night. During the morning there would be tons of cars on that bridge. That's the beltway

No little tugboat is going to pull it back once it has gone off track. Officials are still in rescue and recovery mode. I am sure there will be plenty investigation what went wrong.
March 26, 20241 yr The ship has a history, it hit the docks leaving Antwerp or somewhere in 2016. I wonder if the captain/pilot was the same?

March 26, 20241 yr Apparently the cars on the bridge felt the impact, and stopped, then it collapsed and I heard 7 cars went into the water. Just awful. It is a miracle it wasn't during busier hours but still... those poor people.

With all the weird things happening in the world, you have no idea what the day will bring when you wake up. More than ever, I hope people enjoy their lives to the fullest, taking trips and spending time with family and friends. Tomorrow will probably be fine, but some idiots could pilot a ship into a freaking bridge, and you’ll fall to your death.Unreal...

It’s why I make sure to anonymously call Kz and Procus retarded as much as possible. You never know how many more opportunities you'll get.
March 26, 20241 yr I read the bridge was the only way to transport hazardous material in the area because of the tunnels. Traffic is obviously screwed for years, and that major port could be closed for at least six months because it will take a few months to get the needed equipment to clear the debris. Two idiots just screwed a lot of things up. If the Army Corps of Engineers was able to clear and patch the Sanibel Causeway in two weeks a few years ago, I think they'd be able to find a way to clear the debris enough for a narrow lane to move ships through.

March 26, 20241 yr Look, I'm not saying he's the best president of all-time, but I'm also not saying he isn't the best president of all-time either. Gotta keep your options open.
