JC Latham (RT, Alabama) -- DRAFTED BY TENNESSEE #7

Featured Replies

There's been talk about Tyler Guyton as someone the Eagles brought in for an official visit and supposedly getting mentored by Lane Johnson during the pre-draft process (potentially a similar situation as Kelce handpicking Cam Jurgens as his replacement).

However at pick number 22, JC Latham, if available makes much more sense as he has actually shown G/T versatility at Alabama and could slide into RG as a rookie as you mentioned, instead of being a redshirt first round pick.

Guyton is more of a projection at RG as he's already a project at RT to begin with. If Latham is off the board would prefer a small trade down if they really want Guyton IMO.

Hopefully Howie learned from the Nolan Smith pick that we are not that flush of talent on the roster that we can afford to have our early draft picks ride the bench.

Agree. I think he’s a better fit than Guyton because of his versatility. The FO/coaching staff loves OL versatility too. I’ve been seeing him mocked mostly in the high teens to low 20’s so he’s within our reach. Might need to trade up a few picks if we really want him.

Or the RT from Oregon State.

And given the need at RG I think you’d ideally want the guy who you can be very confident can play the position right? That said if they think Guyton is the much better talent and prospect then that has to weigh in to it.

I have a feeling Latham is the #1 OLineman on the their board. Checks all the boxes. Big, athletic, can play RT or RG, Alabama guy.

I expect them to trade into the upper teens to get him.

I want Latham too.  He looks like the best offensive lineman in the draft.

Unfortunately. he’s flying up draft boards and is expected to go in the 10-14 range. Doesn’t look like we’ll be in a position to trade up for him.

I want him too!

Think Joe Alt is the best pure tackle but Latham is the best fit for us and it's not close.
