The Post, FWIW, is a relatively centrist - liberal publication these days. The writer said something that resonated with the audience. People who are more observant in their religious practices - Christian and Jewish voters primarily - tend to vote Republican. People who are less observant with their religion, or athiestic or agnostic - tend to vote Democratic. Kind of weird that the less religious ones are also the most accepting.
