Posted April 23, 20241 yr Mock drafting is always a struggle between what I want them to do vs. what I think they will do. Many times, mainly in Round 1, those 2 things don't match. For this exercise, I'm just gonna go with what I think they WILL do. The obvious thing we should all know is it's almost 100% certain the pick is going to be either CB or OL. I maintain there is an outside chance they could go Edge Rusher, but the money is definitely on CB/OL. TRADE: Howie sends #22, 50 and 171 to Denver for pick #12. Denver is in a weird spot...their roster is in a huge transition, they don't have ammo to trade up, they need a QB and many other things. They do not have a 2nd round pick either. Denver is probably the highest we will go with a team that is likely to trade back to gain more assets. 1. CB Terrion Arnold - I like Arnold as a prospect. My issue is that I'd rather keep both 2nd rounders and see who is there at 22, or do a smaller trade up. DeJean should cost less in a trade-up and Kool-Aid we probably could just stick and pick at 22. But, I'm guessing Howie just won't be able to help himself. 2. OT Roger Rosengarten - You know the deal...would compete at RG of the present, potential RT of the future. He played RT at Washington so no worries about changing sides of the line. 4. LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr - I just have this sneaky suspicion that if the draft falls like this and he's there at 120, Howie is gonna pull the trigger. 5. Edge Brennan Jackson - Developmental size/athletic traits prospect. 5. WR Ainias Smith - Good slot prospect, can return punts/kicks as well. 6. RB Carson Steele - Potential steal of the draft. Big RB who can run and catch, but isn't the fastest guy (which is why he'll be here at this slot). Though the players might be different, this is how I think the Eagles will attack positions in the draft...in the order above.

We got Trotter We got Smith Great job!

They actually did pretty close to my other "crazy idea” mock where I had them taking DeJean at 22 and then trading back into Round 1 for McKinstry. Love that they double-dipped at DB!
