Eagles got the sentimental fan favorite. I said he is too small, and still do... BUT- I have a spot in my heart for Axeman Jr, too. Hope he does well.

I wouldn't have liked this pick in 3rd round. But here I like it. He's got Eagles in his blood. And he learned from a great.

Was this just a sentimental/nostalgic pick?

hopefully not, we always need better LBs

Watch the video, the guy calls him a starter one day.

From the above video, Trotter is asked about what if his son is drafted by the Cowboys or Giants:

Love it love it!

Hatchet Man!!!

The more I think about it the more I love this pick.

Rooting hard for Trotter jr

Some fans wanted him in the 3rd or 4th. He falls to the 5th, well played.

I was wondering if he might even go undrafted and wind up here as a UDFA.

I really feel like he can become a clone of TJ Edwards. He's the same size and has the same strengths / traits. Some people try to compare him to Dean, but other than the size, they have had success in college due to opposite reasons. Trotter's game is a product of instincts while Dean's is a heavily because of athleticism.

Tj has about 2 inches and 20 pounds on him so...🤔

At some point I literally gave up on the idea.

I'm glad we pulled the trigger

That was probably before his tests came back. Some even had him as high as the 2nd.

Team programs are cool stories. Combine measurements are real.

Edwards is bigger, but Jr. can pack on more weight. He's listed at 228. Jordan Davis will need to take on multiple blockers to keep these guys clean and allow them to flow to the ball.

Edwards has added weight over the years, but he's not really 6' 1", he's just barely over 6' and Trotter is exactly 6'.  Their combine measurements are nearly identical.

At the time of their combines, Edwards was a quarter inch taller, 2 lbs heavier, hands were 1/8 inch bigger and arms were 1/4 inch shorter. Neither player was touted as "athletic" and both players were praised for their instincts and awareness.

I honestly am not sure if he has the tools to be a good nfl linebacker but I think it’s amazing that he gets to play for the Eagles. Really happy for Trotter Sr

Didn't realize this. While it's not at all certain all of those kinds of guys will pan out, this is encouraging news.

Tj weighs more now, what was trotters combine height?

Hell yeah, I wanted JT jr in the 4th round....

This is now probably be a competition for the middle line backer like Barry Gardner and Jeremiah Trotter snr back in the day.

Gut feeling tells me Jeremiah jnr will be the starting middle linebacker eventually.
