April 29, 20241 yr Obviously this is early and injuries could effect who is available to be here week 1. I'll make the assumption that Sydney brown will be available. April 29, 20241 yr I’m guessing Sydney Brown will start the year on IR/PUP. I think we’ll have a veteran safety being signed with only 3 on the roster including SB. Unless they see Maddox/Dejean/Mek Garner as hybrids, there’s a handful of vets with a lot of experience that could contribute to a young DB room. Simmons, Tracy Walker, Hyde, Eddie Jackson, Maye come to mind.
April 29, 20241 yr I predict that Jalen Hurts will be the starting QB 🙂 and the depth players roster will not be identical at the end of training camp, to where it is right now.

April 29, 20241 yr I think Oren Burks makes it at LB. He actually started a few games for SF last year. He's more of a ST guy but he's a more proven NFL player than every LB on the roster outside of Devin White
April 29, 20241 yr QB Hurts, Pickett, McKee WR Brown, Smith, Campbell, Parker, (A Smith and Covey compete for Return man / WR4/5) RB Saquon, Gainwell, Shipley, (Davis-Price and Boston Scott compete to be stashed on PS as insurance) OL Lane, Mailata, Dickerson, Jurgens, Steen as starters, Hennessy, Keegan, Becton, F Johnson TE Goedert, Uzomah, Calcaterra, Okwuegbenam DL Carter, Davis, Williams, Tuipolotu, Ojomo, Graham, Sweat, Huff, Smith, Hunt ILB Dean, White, Trotter, Van Sumeren CB Slay, Mitchell, Ringo, Bradberry, Maddox, McPhearson, Rodgers, Ricks Safety CJGJ, Blankenship, Brown, DeJean Specialists Elliott, Lovato, Mann
April 29, 20241 yr I think there are 37 players that are roster locks. Neither Bradberry who I think will be cut nor Sydney Brown, who will likely start the year on PUP, are included in that number. That means there are 17 roster spots up for grabs. Easier to first figure the positions they'll definitely keep and leave out the camp bodies: 38 TE2 - CJ Uzomah/Grant Caltacerra/Albert O 39.TE3 40. WR3 - Parris Campbell/Britain Covey/Devonta Parker/Ainias Smith/Johnny Wilson 41. WR4 42. WR5 43. OL9 - Trevor Keegan/Grant McMahon/Fred Johnson/LeRaven Clark/Darren Kinnard 44. DT4 (DL10) - Marlon Tuipulato/Moro Ojomo 45. LB3 - Oren Burks/Ben Van Sumeren/Jerimiah Trotter, Jr./Brandon Smith 46. LB4 47. CB5* - Zech McPherson/Josh Jobe/Isaiah Rogers, Jr./Eli Ricks Roster spots #48-53 go to 6 "electives" meaning they go heavier at whichever of the above positions and/or keep one of the following RB4 - Ty Davis-Price S4** - Tristen McCollum/Mekhi Garner *If Bradberry is not cut, this becomes CB6, and there would be not for certain be 6 CBs ** For positional purposes I'm counting Cooper DeJean as S, not a CB and assuming that Sydney Brown starts the year on PUP
April 29, 20241 yr I hope Mr.T doesn't make the team. He has either been awful or injured his three years in the league. Whenever he is in the game I expect the opposing team to run up the middle for 8-9 yards.

That said that's the 53 if we were solely going on whats available right now, I hope and expect that we bring in a vet DT following roster cuts, we carried 6 last year and it wasn't enough. If Calais Campbell could be persuaded to take a rotational role at DT he was quietly pretty good in Atlanta running a hybrid scheme last year even at 37 and said he wanted to play another year, if we could get him to play 450 snaps (he played over 700 last year) he could be a solid pick up

The $1.6M is what he counts against he cap because his $2.375M signing bonus was prorated over 5 years. Add the signing bonus to his $1.125M salary and the total is is salary $3.5M fully g'teed. https://overthecap.com/player/zack-baun/8814

Until Carter and Davis prove they can sustain success over a full season, the interior DL cannot be considered a strength.
