It's Official: Ravens vs. Chiefs for Season Opener on TNF

Houston is on the rise, and Stroud is the next big name in the league, so I'll go with the Texans

NFl knows everybody is watching anyways, so can't see them with Ravens. Cincy or Houston does the trick but I think the sleeper is Tampa Bay. NFC playoff team from the East coast.

While Detroit had some popularity with their 2022 appearance on Hard Knocks, they were a non-factory team for most coming into last season and played the Chiefs. EVERYONE is watching that opening Thursday game, even if its last seasons Colts-Falcons playing. I prefer them using a random team against the SB Champs and saving the bigger matchup (like Mahomes-Burrow or Mahomes-Stroud) for later in the season when Wins and Losses feel more significant

yup, why give up Ravens-Chiefs when everybody is watching anyways?   The surprise team here is Tampa Bay.  They are playoff team, east coast, and NFC, a lot of the same things that made Detroit a good pick.  Only reason they wouldn't do Tampa is to not fall into a predictable formula, so Texans or Bengals is my pick.  I'm leaning Bengals to take advantage of Burrow healthy and it keeps with the tradition of going with a recent CCG.

Speaking of TB -- I have an annual pass for Universal Studios and make an annual visit Sept/Oct to attend their HHN event... so I am painfully waiting for next week's schedule release so I can lock in travel dates for when PHI is at TB and hope it conveniently lands within the first 9 weeks of the season so I can kill two birds with one stone.
